Boissier Bleu

This morning I've been trying to capture Boissier bleu in watercolor.
The blue reminds me of the Eiffel Tower seen through the window as the bus raced by.
Boissier has a pale bleu too. I know. Boissier gave me this pretty tin with the golden tree on it. (bois = tree..wood)
A similar bleu waits at the end of the escalator at Metro Ecole Militaire - L'heure bleue.
Marron/chestnut flavored tea in these inimitable bleu tins - how to capture it?
A similar blue lights up Galeries Lafayette for Christmas
Touches of Boissier bleu at their stand at Salon du Chocolat
Hmmm...not unlike these blue yogurt cups, but blue is everywhere in France...
Lavender pretty round boxes full of rose + framboise confiteur. I got one. It lasted 1 day only.
Chocolate petals with a signature Boissier sticker...
I got a mini size box of these petals. They went in maybe 1 hour. Ooops, I forgot to notice how the bleu petals tasted unfortunately...

Boissier Madeleines

1st thing in New York, just for old times sake, Bear wolfed down all the madeleines he'd brought back from Paris as a gift for someone else.

Madeleines from Boissier in the 16th.

Bear was hoping to get tea at elegant Boissier.

But comme d'habitude he was too late.

But that didn't stop him buying up the store

 As much as possible

 c'est la vie

Meanwhile back on the homefront, Bear got the bright idea to make cornbread madeleines with a few tiny changes naturalement like using orange juice and zest instead of milk with a dash of ginger etc.

Malheureusement the first batch were too big
And left in the oven too, too long!

The second batch came out parfait! Baked in just 10 minutes no longer.

Bear is going out for Thanksgiving
And since Bear doesn't much care for jalepenos in his cornbread, he's bringing his own wrapped in the empty Boissier package. What do you think? Should Bear try to fool Viv and her 9 cats?
Boissier does have one of the prettiest shopping bags in town so it's worth a try non?
Next trip Bear won't be late for tea at Maison Boissier.

More Paris To-Dos

More last minute Paris to-dos PBers!
Any other suggestions are welcome.
Of course I will be attending Jour du Macarons Tuesday 20 March.
With Queen of Scots macarons by my side, Jill Colonna I can not go wrong.
We'll grab a bite at Printemps new popup cafe Paco Rabanne par Hediard.
Of course it will be a salade break between macaron scouting.
I have a cooking class lined up with Meeting The French (Chef Marthe) I'm excited about. Sample menu:
Mediterranean zucchini
Chicken with two vinegars
Grape pickers' cake
After all the eating I'll need to climb some stairs! I've never been to Franck et Fils 80, rue de Passy 75016 but this looks perfect. Thanks Paris Chronicles for mentioning their inhouse Harcourt Photo Studio on the 2nd fl (10 €).
Marie says I mustn't miss salon de The at Maison Boissier either. 184 ave. Victor Hugo 76016
Have you heard about Guerlain's newest perf La Petite Robe Noire? There's an expo at 68 av des Champs Elysees I want to catch of French graphic designers.
I'd love to get to see YSL's studio at Foundation Pierre Berge but this is not an easy one to catch - 5 av Marceau 75016...
I'll be staying in BOBO 11th arrondissement after a night at Fr Girl's (for some essential sleuthing). I wanted to get to know a new area in Paris. Any suggestions?
I know La Patisserie by Cyril Lignac has opened nearby - 24, rue Paul Bert - more stairs on the agenda bien sur.
I've been meaning to go to La Cocotte for ages, also nearby - 5, rue Paul Bert 75011
In London, I'll be taking tea at Peggy Porschen's Parlour 116 Ebury st, Belgravia this week!
My dance card is filling up but any suggestions are most welcome. I see some of you are into Cara Black's Paris mysteries. Would this make good Kindle reading on the trip over?
Do tell all PBers.
