PAD Paris, Tamara de Lempicka, Cauliflower

Yesterday Rosemary invited me to PAD Paris at the Tuileries

An annual Art 🖼️ and design show..it was a surprise to see a still life painting

Who knew she painted so many still lives

Much less cauliflower so beautifully.

This sent me down a cauliflower rabbit 🐇 hole.

And looking at scrumptious cauliflower recipes on Instagram. Do you have a special recipe for me? I have NEVER a made it!

As we waltzed around the ultra modern rooms of PAD Paris…

There was an interesting ‘Goldilocks’ chair 🪑 challenge going on.

Were these chairs

Even meant for sitting, like this Swiss 🧀 cheese number?

Rosemary was enamored with this poetic chaise lounges no one dared to test out.

This simple bamboo room

Placed a spikey thistle on their chair as a warning not to sit down.

Here is a ‘draped’ chair anyone can DIY at home with an old bedspread and still be au currant 👌

I completely missed the odd chair in the background of this weird bent wood table…

Another table that looks possibly lethal to approach.
Very low perhaps for your dog’s 🐶 waterbowl?

By the way, if a French 🇫🇷 person says to you, “Installez-vous” it means sit down, make yourself at home.

The general atmosphere at PAD Paris is relaxed. Feel free to sit down 🪑 anywhere.

Even if you may require instructions.

A witty record player stand (Italian) and a possible plant 🪴 light. Both Rosemary and I are gifted plant 🪴 killers. Could this be the answer?

Some colorful wall hangings by Pierre Alechinsky Man Ray and Alexander Calder no one could have a problem with.

They shooed us out a 7:00

Some of the best-dressed were from the galleries - a Vivienne Westwood checked coat on the right.

LOUIS VUITTON
We wandered along rue de Castiglione,

Taking in the Spring windows.

Repetto outdid themselves.

It is still Easter 🐣 Chocolate 🍫 time as far as Parisians are concerned.

Thank you BTournier for reference to Edouard Cortes’ Place Vendôme painting 🖼️

We had tea ☕️ at a cafe across from Palais Garnier
And headed home.
Thank you Rosemary ❤️

  1. Your lovely photo of the Place Vendôme looks very similar to a nights scene by Edouard Cortèz --except for the tree!
