Le Chocolat 🍫 Alain Ducasse

Yesterday was Christmas 🎄 chocolate 🍫 tasting Time 🤸‍♂️

You might not be thinking about Christmas 🎅 just yet…
But Parisian chocolatiers are presenting their 🎄 collections in September just like Paris Couture.
One of the hardships of blogging in Paris is you must indulge
in Holiday 🎄 treats before the rest of humanity.
*Bears 🐻 by the way will always be IN for any holiday in France
The invitation said begins at 14:30/2:30
I thought I arrived on the dot at the Le Chocolat Labo
But plenty of 🍫 tasters got there ahead of me.
We were lucky to sit down for the first tasting.
A tray of 10 perfect chocolates 🍫
Naturally I got out my little ‘kiwi’ knife
Le Chocolat’s head chocolatier, Quentin Francis-Gaigneux explained all the different flavors. I was busy sketching ✍️
I noticed my neighbor ‘saving’ hers in her purse 👜 She said she had a ‘cardiac situation’ and ‘pleine de crème’/full of cream. I followed her example.
Later I saw her, the first one, to get ice cream 🍨 from the chariot and others lining up after her 😂
The edible chocolate box is so clever. Ducasse’s designs are always unique and witty.
Le Chocolat’s Advent calendar
Is full of whimsical animals 🐻‍❄️
Their cocoa pod shaped-chocolates are directly inspired
By the chocolate cabosse/pod.
They let me step into where they were roasting the beans.
The beans Le Chocolat are chosen from a variety of places;
Smoky Indonesian Java, Trinidad, Madagascar, Peruvian Porcelana, Venezuelan Chuao, Vietnam. All la crème de la creme of beans 🫘
I was very happy to have LE CHOCOLAT excellent chocolates for breakfast this morning. Time to dream of Christmas chocolates

  1. Ah, the joys of a ziplock bag and a big purse. I'd do the same and it looks divine (and I'm not even a chocolate fan!)

Oh Jeanie ❤️ so true. It is fun to ‘save’ things 🍫 for later 😂

Clever girl, I’ll bet the chocolates tasted divine singly, on their own, later. Ten chocolates at one sitting is a little much although they all look irresistible! Merci for taking us inside Ducasse’s chocolate lab!

Exactly Bonnie 👍 Too much of a good thing. Time is required to appreciate the flavors.

YES! Eating chocolate must not be rushed! I remember a woman at the James Beard House who said she ate ONE French chocolate every night.

Out of curiosity and out of France unfortunately, how much are they? I think I could eat ten in my mind anyway.😉

Ducasse chocolates are definitely in the ‘haute Couture’ range of French chocolates. Prices are shown on the website.

  9. French chocolate is the best! Didn’t French Girl keep a collection of bars she would nibble on?

Yes, that’s ancient history. She could also eat ONE potato chip and save the rest for another time! I am not a nibbler.

Do they have a chocolate shop in NY. I would love to try the biscuits and dark chocolate bar with whole nuts. Lynne

  18. A hardship like the woman saving her chocolates but being first for ice cream 😉
It’s a good point saving them though, how do you appreciate each one when there’s 10 of them, it’s a lot all at once.
I like the idea of one good chocolate every day, but I normally have plain dark chocolate some evenings.
Always like your chocolate drawings/paitings 🙂

10 chocolates an is unrealistic amount to expect people to taste at one sitting, unless they were thin slivers Kirra 👍
