It’s the last days of Summer in Paris…
Yesterday was a glorious day in the low 80s…
I moved in naturalement for a closer look at jams from the Auvergne
A très chic baby carriage/poussette in Squid green with matching parasol ☂️
Everyone was eating ice cream…
Me too. I had my usual Grom vanille-pistache…again.
Plus a Hot dog at La Mosaique - Pat's Hot Dog 56 rue du Roi de Sicile. Ican never resist. In France you get fried shallots—the brown bits—on top.
Marais cafes were full.
One of this Summer’s looks I have yet to adopt…too much 🍦😳
The sweat shirt tied around the waistline.
A classic Marais cafe table waiting for the Saturday lunch bunch
Over at BHV department store…
A new promotion…Bonjour Paris.
The brill artist, Marin Montagut has set up a series of trés Parisienne adorable shops on the ground floor up until 2 October.Everything you could dream to having the Paris look in your home and on your back. Remember his charming book?
I admit I snuke my Luxembourg chair 🪑 watercolor in among his Luxembourg cups..just to see how it looked 😊 If you buy the chair watercolor, you get a free Paris Parks map 👏
I made a little video of painting the chairs on Instagram now.
The new Fall fruits have arrived, hot off the presses!
That hot dog looks so good. I haven’t had one in years. But that is an exception.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so Paris! Wish I could get there in time..
ReplyDeleteThere was a word I didn’t understand.
ReplyDeleteYou said something about sweatshirts tied around a waistline.
What is a “waistline”?
You are too funny, positioning your water color in with the cups😆😆😆 Looks good there!!
ReplyDeleteI don’t think M. Montagut would appreciate it…I was hoping there would be a Real Luxembourg chair to pop it on. Not. They said they were up on the 4th floor. Not. They have to be ordered and no wonder at €468 a piece.
DeleteWhat a great day! It’s sunny here today in the Southern Hemisphere so feels like we are about to swap seasons.
ReplyDeleteYour hot dog and ice cream look DELICIOUS! The sweatshirt around the waist is funny, I’m a primary school teacher so the kids do it often for practicality when out playing in the yard.
I wouldn’t think of it as a chic look. Your water colour of the chairs looks perfect!
So much fashion comes from the street and practicality Kirra. But honestly who is going to want to wear a sweatshirt in Summertime ?
DeleteYou continue to inspire me. I’m flying to Paris next Saturday and will happily follow in some of your footsteps. I’ll be looking in a grocery store, too, for a carton of that luscious-looking gazpacho you like!
ReplyDeleteAh…the beloved Alvalle! It comes in individual smaller cartons too. Even my Spanish neighbor was impressed
DeleteThe Marais is so much fun to wander around. I always enjoy your scenes of people enjoying life. That hot dog does really look tasty! I follow Marin on Instagram. Interesting, talented fellow.🗼❤️
ReplyDeleteYes, M.Montogut is a very savvy, talented artist 👏👏👏
DeleteLove his feed.. charming talent..wish I had known about his trues storefront when I went.
ReplyDeleteHe cleverly captures an old-world style with a wonderful wit and color sense. Plus he has terrific video skills. Remember those Ines shopping videos he made? BHV should keep him onboard full time. He has the ‘French touch’
DeleteFor two of my three Paris trips I stayed with our friend Jerry in the Marais and I came to know the area well. It has such a lot to offer. I wish we had a BHV here! It looks like perfect Paris, with cafes and ice creams! I love your Luxembourg chairs -- it belongs in his display! -- and will pop over to IG to watch you paint!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie, lucky you to have a friend in the Marais. It is a different part of Paris…more like a village, very relaxed for sure.
DeleteSuch a lovely, perfect, Saturday afternoon in Paris, Carol! Ice cream, jams, cafe tables, and the delicious Marin Montagut! 😉
ReplyDeleteYour pictures and commentary make me long to be in Paris. Your posts are the next best thing. ❤️
ReplyDeleteFinanciers!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry Carolyne, I am avoiding little cakes for a while please.
DeleteTake pity on me 🙏
Oh, gawd, who can’t love this…..
ReplyDeleteSomething to stir the desire to visit Paris…❤️
ReplyDeleteWhat an over the top post - I loved it all. Marin Montagut is another of my favorites- love his shop. I get cold easily so I always tie my sweater around my waist until I need it - so much easier than carrying it. I love your little painting videos. What's not to love about ice cream and hot dogs and Paris, bien sur.
ReplyDeleteOh Suki you’re so ahead of the rest of us 👍
DeleteLove this one.
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing the street scene in Paris. Yes the season has shifted it feels very much live summer is fading. But asked Oct are the most glorious months.
ReplyDeleteMadame de Loup
Merci, Carol! I recognize these places... and your paintings are so perfect! I laugh to myself remembering my little "party" and that contrived photo of us trying to look like chorus girls or something. Why, oh why, didn't I have the presence of mind to take a few different ones?! I yearn to return! And I still owe you that lunch. xxoo
ReplyDeleteI cannot tell you how wonderful it is to see your pictures and paintings of Paris. My favorite city! I am 74 now and getting more claustrophobic every day. I doubt I will ever make it back to Paris but your doodles and pictures do send me back there in my mind. Thank you!
