When I shot the pink trench above, the owner of Anne Elisabeth came out to check on me...was I going to steal her 'bow'?
Wearing bows at the neck goes way back and why not at the neck of your perfume like Annik Goutal does here?
YSL puts bows going down the front of this cocoon.
Don't miss the YSL show if you're in Paris!
Painted on the walls, bien sur at Musee Carnavalet.Sonia is not just Queen of sweaters and queen of stripes, she is also queen of bows
“May the wind bow always be on your back and the sun upon your face and may the winds of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.”
THANK YOU FOR YR KIND MESSAGES YESTERDAY!
Bonne Journee PB readers!
I think those lovely rainboots are, british designer, Vivienne Westwood :D
ReplyDeleteRibbon and bow knot are surely cute.
I can't tell you how much I love your blog: it's something about the art, the fashion, the whimsy, your sense of humour and, of course, your dedication to all things French.
ReplyDeleteThank you!

ReplyDeleteLovely bows, but all I want are those Marc Jabobs sunglasses!
ReplyDeleteWhat I want to know is how they always make such perfect bows! I've learned to make two rabbit ears and then loop them over one another for a pretty decent bow, but it's hard to make them look so good! I love 'em.
ReplyDeleteI grew up with a mother who liked strict Coco-like tailoring but did soften things with a bow...so I was lucky. BTW, GG wears the gold ribbon from one of my AGoutal bottles on her organic cotton collar - green with gold, very nice. Goes with her golden-red head fur. I can't tell you how chic she is...her human cannot begin to keep up.
ReplyDeleteciao, bella
And it does have to end with a ribbon on our morning sweets...thanks! I love the bows on the rain boots. I could use a pair - it's raining in PA. In NY too, I suspect ...
ReplyDeleteYes it is raining in NYC..
ReplyDeleteWhy of why didn't I buy those bow rain boots?
I keep asking myself that...sign
I always enjoy a good butt bow...or boob bow.
ReplyDeleteI have a certain 'thing' for bows! I adore them!
ReplyDelete♥ Daniëlle
WENDY! you must be part French- you wear a lotta bows Hun.
ReplyDeleteI buy bows and never wear them -Sonia's black satin headband big bow-I bought TWO for insurance/investment.
I have yet to wear one. I don't think I'm the 'Alice' type except when it comes to tea cakes etc.
Thank you RUBIS for the info-I shall check if London's V&A carries Vivienne's rainboots. I would love to bet they don't but I'm afraid of losing...ahem
Dear BRUSH WITH COLOR-I'm certain those French bows are sewn to reach that height of perfection. Not tied as any poor schlep among us might do...
That GG is one pampered pet!
today I learn a word : bow !
ReplyDeletethank you
A+C++++
Love you blog!!!I don´t comment often enough but always read it and smile,,,,thanks!....I work in graphic design and over a year ago we pronounced that the beloved bow would be the next deco rage...like a few years ago the swirl,,,then the flower and now THE BOW!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat ! No mention of rain "bows" ?
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful site~ it brightens
my breakfast. Thank you.
Bugs~(in the Mojave)
Now I must go find a big ribbon to tie in my hair (and then likely take it out because I will look ridiculous :-))

ReplyDeleteI love the colors in this post - the shoes, the raincoat, the shop front, the food :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday, deary. Thank you for loving Paris as much as I do!
ReplyDeleteYes you are right! We, French people love bows and I like wearing them! You should wear them, too....
ReplyDeleteIn today's blog (Bows) , you metioned store owner came out when you were taking photo.....
ReplyDeleteHow do you handle that? I get nervous and usually don't take the shot.
Do you have any suggestions on how to respond??
Merci!
Reyes
Grab the shot and worry later
ReplyDeleteI tell em it's for my blog
Don't ask, dont tell

my camera is small

and I love it!
I MUST have those rain boots
ReplyDeleteThey probably cost 300 euros!
You might know that I am a huge fan of Merisi, as I know you are also.
ReplyDeleteMight I say that your site has got such a great atmosphere.
It's been a while since I have been able to board a plane at JFK to cross the Atlantic.
Your posts are encouraging me to try just a little bit harder (thinking of an old Janis Joplin tune) to figure out how to visit glorious Paris.
Thank you for the inspiration.
Hi Carol,
ReplyDeleteWe, like you, love all things French.
We run a small French inspired boutique in the suburbs of Chicago and adore your blog.
The legwarmers with the bow that you recently photographed for your blog are to die for.
Are you able to give us any information on where you saw those or who makes them? We would really appreciate it!
Merci beaucoup!
Jessie
The best I can guess is the bow-sock was seen on the corner of rue de Rennes and...maybe rue St. Sulpice
ReplyDeleteAnother shot grabbed on the run by the bow stalker.
GROUNDED AT MIDWAY AIRPORT CHICAGO FOR TOO MANY HOURS YESTERDAY, SO MISSED YOUR BIRTHDAY.
ReplyDeletePARTY ON...
I PERSONALLY LIKE TO MAKE A MONTH OF IT!
POLLY
I'm BOWled over! LOVE your observation on the gray coat bow interpretation!!! Sharp eyes!
ReplyDeleteJEANETTE -not sharp eyes at all I have to admit.
ReplyDeleteThat is FRENCH GIRL's grey back with the bow in the Metro...
Boy! Did she get sick of me shooting her every move and outfit.
I had no shame around her :)
Super unique post!
