My Dinner with Parisien Blog

Last night I was honored to have dinner a with true Parisien, Blog, the dog.For an apero, Blog insists upon drinking only Vranken Pommery Champagne.Blog ate all of these before we had a chance...ahemWhen not busy downing his champagne, Blog is very occupied with his plastic milk bottle.
Blog insists on being surrounded by the best brocante and exquisite nature morte are everywhere waiting to be painted.
Pink roses are de rigeur bien sur.
For the poivre (pepper) un petit ange - Blog is very particular about all the petit details.
A table.
The entre was a verrine of mousse chevre chantilly et concumbre.Très Délicieux!
Blog has le bon goût (very good taste)
Vin de Bordeaux is a must.

For the very traditional blanquette de veau.
Blog is an excellent cook as well as an excellent eater.

Yesterday I spotted these beautiful "calissons roses" de chez Fauchon. - Karmic Destiny.
For dessert Blog prepared a verrine of glace "dragee" from Lenotre with framboises (raspberries) and a raspberry macaron.
After dinner Blog likes to read Le Monde to catch up on the news - in this case on a Converse "basket" (running shoe)
Blog is bien elevee (well brought up). He does not chew on shoes ever.

BONJOUR BLOG et MERCI!

Seeing Red...

I don't know why it is, but I always see a lot of red in Paris...
Maybe because red pops against all the grey and neutrals in the streets
On the plane I read how Nora Effron said her mother told her never to wear a red coat because she would be remembered as the person with that red coat. Naturally she went out and got one immediately. so I saw red coats everywhere in Paris...
I was seeing red because it was raining heavily...it usually just drizzles in Paris?
Parisien bistros are usually red - for the steak a point/rawish? Qui sait?
Love this sign and I have no idea what it stands for?
parking day & night? Do you know?
I'm seeing a lot of red Maos in book stores - must find out why...
Love this odd afiche seen in the Metro...
I would LOVE to go to this wedding salon!
Of course the RED Metro signs really stand out.
I wish we had them in NYC...
Red scooters...in the rain
Red smart cars -easier to find on the street?
Very pretty certainment.
Galleries Lafayette definitely has the best posters in Paris...
I love how they think outside the box (or the shoe in this case)
A bientot!
BONJOUR PARIS REDS!

Runaway...

All my life I've been always been a bit of a runaway...
Like Janet Jackson's song, Runaway..
When I was little, I ran away from homework and cleaning my room (I still do that). I loved to escape into books and my imagination. I dreamed of traveling the world, never thinking it would come true.
Sometimes I ran away to the penny candy store to browse and admire..

And now I get to do just that...
In Paris!
And I get to share all my adventures with you!

I never have gone up in the Eiffel Tower...

I am a little afraid of heights...ahem

Nor would I be inclined to take a flying leap off of anything!

I've seen the world
Been to many places
Made lots of friends
Many different races
I've had such fun
Around the world it's true...

(from Janet's Runaway)

But it sure is nice to come home...

Like Janet does in the song...

To her little dog.

Next week I'll get to meet "Blog" the dog in Paris, the beautiful pup of Christian - Le Banc Moussu and I can't wait.

Thanks again ParisBreakfast Readers for making all my wishes come true!

Are you a runaway too?

Et Merci
BON-WEEKEND!

Your Paris Suggestions...

I'll be in Paris next Monday and your suggestions are requested...
I'm staying in the 10th arrondissement this time and I do not know it at all! HELP!

Do it in Paris had this story on the 10th...Have you been to any of these places?
I did once peek in the window late at night in Du Pain et des Idees and I long to go inside...
Of course there will many visits to various famed and unknown macaroneries - all for research bien sur.
French macarons, original art, 5.5" x 7.5"

And don't think for a minute I will miss one second of Salon du Chocolat 2009
More serious research!

I got an invite to the Foire d'Automne. Have you ever gone? They have workshops on wine, cuisine, decor, but the makeup is calling out to moi...
I may go on another Meeting The French tour to Gerard Mulot's kitchens. Can you ever get too much of macaron making?
I would love to drop in on a Paris piscine like this one in the 10th...

And wouldn't it be GREAT if they were doing Tai Chi in the Luxemburg? I just started classes...Have you ever been?

I hope to get a copy of this book with all the free stuff in Paris...

I saw this in The Ivy Paris News at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, one hundred robot rabbits are waiting - their ears move to music!Do you live in Paris and have a small dog?
This is "Blog". He belongs to Christian of Le Banc Moussu - do visit. Anyway Christian says he will let me take pictures of Blog, but I need all the small Parisien dogs I can find. Let me know...
Any other suggestions of must-dos in Paris?
Do tell s.v.p.!
BONJOUR YOUR PARIS SUGGESTIONS!
