Art Paris Art Fair 2018

Last Wednesday was a bit like today...drizzly…its easy to stay inside and draw. But ART PARIS was opening.
Grand Palais is always a treat no matter how stay-at-home you feel.
Such a fantastic, airy space. Everybody was there. Long, long lines waiting to get. Plenty of pkids!
So much color. Always uplifting.
More color.
A plastic bottle montage.
Wall of eyes + round objects.
A gallery of Corbusier watercolor drawings.
What Parisians are wearing is half of the show.

Champagne chariots stratigically placed.

A 'thank you' note from Swiss kinetic artist Jean Tinguely painted on corrugated cardboard to a Brazilian client.

Loose, casual drawings, look like they were drawn with a branch. I felt like I paint with a pin.
Armin's tubes of yellow ochre encased in plexiglass.
More color - bold, splashy paintings from a Frankfurt gallery, Die Galerie.
On the way home seen in the metro station - Marimeko's bold, splashy prints at Uniglo. I got the one the dotty one on the left. The ISLE OF DOGS poster could have been in the show.
Next year I won't hesitate to go to ART PARIS.

Art-Paris

When you go to Art-Paris you can shoot everything in sight. It's a huge art fair format of international galleries displaying contemporary works set in the Grand Palais. A gorgeously sunny day, so though you're inside, it feels like you're outside. Normally inside a Parisien galerie if you pull out a camera, they pull out a gun. Here you have carte blanche.
An art stalker's dream.
I was intrigued by different gallery setups in each space - this one is extremement minimal. Not so crazy for this gigantic upsided bug.
 A classically French artwork...
Fore and aft.
If you're going to eat lunch in full view wear a crazy getup.
This gallerist has all the essentials:
Sandwiche - check
Coke - check
Le Monde - check
Artsy Eames chair - check
Art exhibit - check
Bear along for the ride, announced he was getting ras le bol,
He sat in the leopard cacoon-thing and he did. They could care less.
Bear's fav artwork at Art-Paris
An objet trouve that appealed to me.
Macarons have hit the art circuit big time.
I seem to browse this artwork every single time in Paris at La Grande Epicerie. I should break down and taste these brushstrokes.
BONJOUR ART-PARIS!

Sheep May Not Safely Graze

Sheep may not safely graze during Easter/Pâques.
They are likely to end up on your dinner plate.
There isthe option of becoming a chocolate sheep, if you're shopping at Dehillerin and buy this yellow mold.
BCBG had sheep grazing in their windows on rue Saint Honore.
This black sheep found a safe refuge at the Art-Paris show.
Plenty of sheep are seeking sanctuary at the new François Lalanne show at Les Arts decoratifs... The noise is deafening.
But as long as you keep them outside your chateau, it's bearable.
Inside, they do best on the floor...
Hippos, blue or not, can graze all they want without fear or fuss.
As can cat-bird-fish-cows...
A non-grazing horse-lamp was not in the show but standing in an alcove on rue Tronchet...
At Les Arts Decoratifs, you could almost spend as much time in the bookstore browsing as in the museum in my opinion...
A dog onboard-a-Lalanne-sheep postcard...
Here's a little gentle music for those sheep...
