Grand Palais is always a treat no matter how stay-at-home you feel.
Such a fantastic, airy space. Everybody was there. Long, long lines waiting to get. Plenty of pkids!
So much color. Always uplifting.
More color.
A plastic bottle montage.
Wall of eyes + round objects.
A gallery of Corbusier watercolor drawings.
What Parisians are wearing is half of the show.
Champagne chariots stratigically placed.
A 'thank you' note from Swiss kinetic artist Jean Tinguely painted on corrugated cardboard to a Brazilian client.

Loose, casual drawings, look like they were drawn with a branch. I felt like I paint with a pin.
Armin's tubes of yellow ochre encased in plexiglass.
More color - bold, splashy paintings from a Frankfurt gallery, Die Galerie.
On the way home seen in the metro station - Marimeko's bold, splashy prints at Uniglo. I got the one the dotty one on the left. The ISLE OF DOGS poster could have been in the show.
Wow, those dogs are sort of creepy! It's the eyes. The Yellow Ochre paint leaves me with wonderment, how? why? Love the Marrimekko bag and dress, yum.
ReplyDeleteYou can get your Marimekko too at UNIGLO. Pas cher too
DeleteThe dogs are from Wes Anderson's new movie so not in the show exactly but could be
♥Love seeing les couleurs
ReplyDeleteYes color is a wonderful mood-elevator! ❤️
DeleteLooks very interesting & even though I'm not a big fan of modern art, the color and imagination involved is fascinating to me.
ReplyDeleteFull of visual surprises. A good experience.
DeleteA fascinating collection. I loved the dogs -- it should have been in the show. Reminded me of a documentary I recently saw on WWI veterans who were in a bad way and it's very powerful. Love the color, though not all the art in the show knocks me ut. I much prefer yours, to be honest.
ReplyDeleteYou are biased Jeanie. How nice 😄💋
DeleteWhat a joy it is to receive your Paris breakfast. I was a student in Paris back in the dark ages (1956-56) after spending a year in Switzerland learning the French language. How luck you are to live in Paris.
ReplyDeleteWish I had taken a year to learn French in Switzerland...lucky you!❤️
DeleteI love that Marimekko dress! You bought it? Was it expensive?
ReplyDeletePas cher & BIG pockets 😄
Delete24,90€
from UNIQLO
DeleteDo you know if the Grand Palais exhibit and the Van Cleef one are still going to be up next month? Am trying to decide whether to come to Paris in late May... :) I know it's always a good time.
ReplyDeleteSorry no. The dates are shown. These are short exhibitions but theres plenty else to see in Paris....not to worry
DeleteCheers
Beautiful art!! I love your posts. Looking online for the cute Marimekko bag but not finding it. Have you seen it anywhere?
ReplyDeleteI need more champagne chariots in my life! (Currently zero).
