Salon du Fromage 🧀 2026

ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR, 6”x 8”

I thought drawing ✍️ cheese would be a piece of cake 🍰

It was not…
The biannual Salon du Fromage was held Sunday thru Tuesday.

SOLLI and I went on  Monday

Thinking less crowds

Then on the weekend. It was.

One thing for sure 👍 You will never go hungry here.

At the Salon du Fromage 🧀

Very yummy Swiss Gruyère 🧀 Fondue 🫕

Did I say the Salon is open to the public?

Tickets 🎫 are a mere15€

Considering what a plateau of fromage would cost in any restaurant.

This is probably the most generous of all food  tasting events in Paris.

No magnifying glasses 🔍 required here.

And it’s not just French 🇫🇷 cheese either.

In case you were worried 🤔 YAY for UK cheddar!

What is your favorite cheese 🧀? I love ❤️ Greek Feta 🇬🇷

And Parmigiano Reggiano 👍

There were very nice condiments to go with your cheese tasting…

Fruit jells…dates anyone?

Blocks of quince jelly Yum Yum 😋

A favorite accompaniment to creamy cheeses.

I’m still crazy for this PAVÉ /faux cobblestone block made outside Paris - a delicious combo of creamy milk 🐄 + goat 🐐 cheeses.

They are having a special celebratory banquet in the cow 🐄 stalls on Monday, the 15th at LÀ FERME DE LA TREMBLAYE Anyone want to go?

SOLLI took a ‘trompe l’oeil photo 📸 of me in front of a poster.
I look a bit worn down from all the 🧀 feasting…

While SOLLI was daintily tasting, I was busy stuffing my pockets with samples 🤫 I needed them to paint from - my haul.

My favorite takeaway is, ‘Le Compostelle’ with the famous St. Jacques scallop shell of the pilgrims embossed into it.

I don’t see how I can ever eat this beauty. Could you?
Plan to return in 2027 for the next SALON DU FROMAGE held at Porte de Versailles convention Center.

Your post makes me feel hungry for cheese. I only have Dutch Gouda at home. No French cheese

      Dear Isabelle,
GOUDA was well represented as well as Italy ,Switzerland, UK, etc. No US VT cheddar was present 🤷‍♀️

I have to admit working on this post got me salivating and I devoured some Danish and French cheeses brought home from the salon.

I've read that aged & fermented cheese are good for the gut microbiome, so I'm eating fermented brie this week.

I love Brie and most all cheese! It is often expensive here in SoCal so I am always looking for bargains and small bits sold in a basket at the cheese shop area in certain super markets. This looks fabulous! These fairs are wonderful. I can't think of anything like this here except in 2005 when a world food fair had to change venues and it came to the Convention Center in San Diego but was only for buyers of the products. No general attendees were allowed.

Unfortunately it’s the TARIFFS that have made French 🇫🇷 & other cheeses prohibitive 😬
