Art Déco 🐟 Aquarium Tropical, Palais de la Porte Dorée

I went out looking for Art Déco architecture on Tuesday

And came home obsessed with fish 🐟
It’s been 10 years since

I visited

Classic Art Déco building, built in 1931 by architect Albert Laprade.

Located at 293 Avenue Daumesnil, 75012 (Metro 8) in a part of Paris I don’t often visit.

Here’s a tip👍 If you are going to residential areas, ask Google for the nearest Patisserie 🥐

Vandermerrsch
is top drawer and nearby at 278 Ave. Daumesnil.

They even carry  Christine Ferbier confiture !
I got a mini kouglof and came back for more later.

Their galette des rois is famous 👌

Back to fish 🐟

The Aquarium is in the basement

With more than 500 animal species

Living in more than

85 different

Environments.

I’m sure the last thing

On your Paris to-do list

Is a visit to an aquarium?!

It wouldn’t even make your list, but
It is a magical experience in a beautiful building.

I want to say it’s a grounding experience…or sea 🌊 level experience?

It makes you stop and think about this vast ecosystem we are so dependent on.

Mid-February 2 Mississippi sisters 🐊🐊 are joining the gang.

And you could get king 👑 cake on the way home!

Well, Carol, fabulous visit in Paris is the Aquarium. I personally adore them. Even when I went to Montecarlo in Monaco I visited the Aquarium of Jacques Cousteau which is impressive. Of course next visit to that area of Paris, the Aquarium is on my list as well as the Gallete des Rois

The Jacques Cousteau Aquarium in Monaco is so amazing! The magnificent building built on a rock cliff overlooking the sea. Put it on you must see list.
