1925-2025. Cent Ans d'Art Déco #2

The museum owns 1,500,000 Art Deco items
So we can’t

Too many treasures

To

Rediscover.

Walls

And walls

And walls

Of ART DÉCO

Immersion.

It was so crowded

On New Years Ève Day

And so many floors,

I gave up and searched desperately for the exit /Sortie.

I ended up

 In the gift 🎁 shop.

Nice socks 🧦

And pretty Art Déco style bags.

Getting back to Agatha Christie…

We all are counting the days till Jan 15 = Netflix’ THE SEVEN DIALS MYSTERY (written in 1929). This is the original 📕 cover.

Meantime, I’m listening to the unabridged audio book 📕 (7+ hrs)
📻
Which is a very good thing, since we have a TON of snow ⛄️ on the ground in Paris and I do not have snow boots 🥾

  2. Wouldn't you love to be the person who sets up these exhibits? I can't imagine! I'm looking at the last photo. the walls above and furniture below that is so carefully chosen to go with them.

A massive job to curate this exhibit to be sure!
I would like to request that the labels not be at foot level.
Forget the aesthetics for once 🙏

Love those 1920’s dresses, all silk & beads. Gorgeous! Understandable, not owning snow boots living in Paris. Still, a taxi could pick you up at the door and deliver you to Gare de Lyon…🏖️ Enjoy the beauty of the snow from your window. It will be gone before you know it! 😉

What will I do at Gare de Lyon Bonnie?
      Head to the Riviera? 🏖️
      Yes please 🙏

As a holiday gift, I asked my husband for a subscription to your Paris posted letters. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my first one! A reader from the Seattle area....

You could do the Art Deco every day. I must have been born during that time in another life. I love everything about it. The walls are outstanding. The two handbags are to die for. Color. I love color. This was really fabulous. Thank you. Lynne

      So nice to hear Lynne,
I was a little worried it might be too much of a good thing 🙂

You can always put plastic bags over your shoes and secure them with rubber bands!

  11. What a great exhibit, love the style/pattern/colour. Looks like a massive exhibition so good to break it up if you can.
Enjoy your inside snow day, the view looks very pretty!

  12. Also, thanks for the tip about The Seven Dials adaptation coming up on Netflix. I’ve read lots of Agatha Christie books but don’t think I’ve read this one….looked it up and I can’t remember reading it.

I read a good biography of her a few years ago:
Agatha Christie: a very elusive woman by Lucy Worsley (I think she might have done some tv shows about it too, like a documentary).
