May Fraise Balloon ๐ŸŽˆ Letter

I started thinking about dancing ballerina ๐Ÿฉฐ strawberries at the Opera Garnier…which quickly turned into flying Balloon ๐ŸŽˆstrawberries ๐Ÿ“ over the Eiffel Tower bien sur. Where would I be without the Eiffel tower๐Ÿค”

How many obsessions can a girl have? Shiny teapots, blue cups, pastry…one loses count. But flying balloons ๐ŸŽˆ has been a returning theme from way back

Even yesterday at La Poste I spotted a new balloon stamp…a balloon ๐ŸŽˆ enthusiast could not resist ❤️

For some odd reason the French poste has NOT created a timbre/stamp commemorating the Montgolfiรจre brothers

Who invented the first hot air balloons ๐ŸŽˆ inspired by the flying, flickering sparks from their fireplace !

They launched it in June, 1783. I might love flying hot air balloons with a passion ❤️ but you couldn’t pay me to go up in one..

Still for your next trip to France YOU can book a
lovely ride outside Paris or Reims or the Loire valley ๐Ÿ‘

Here’s a previous flying object Paris letter of tomates ๐Ÿ…

Flying cherries/cerises
๐Ÿ’ was a Must-Do

Eons ago I went with my NY neighbor, Vicki, to the Balloon ๐ŸŽˆ Festival in Albuquerque, NM. Have you ever been? Enthralling

Of course there has to be hot air balloon ๐ŸŽˆ symbolism…

It brings calmness at the same time as adrenaline, riding a hot air balloon gives people the chance to rise above everything and see how small their problems actually are.

It must have made a deep, lasting impression in “the little grey cells” as Poirot would say…

Along with all the beautiful berries/fraise ๐Ÿ“

And strawberry desserts everywhere this month
Ta Da! The Paris Fraise ๐Ÿ“ letter ๐Ÿ’Œ
I wish I could send you all French Garigette & Charlotte fraises, but the next best thing is a Paris letter full of berries, mais oui ๐Ÿ“❤️๐ŸŽˆ

Every girl has an obsession that is a truth. Mine are cats, watermelons and ice cream cones. Don't know why. Have a good one!

Obsessions are good as long as no one is harmed.
Ice cream is safe as houses ๐Ÿ˜️

Oooh…I share your hot air balloon obsession. They are so fabulous to watch. From the ground! I’m green with envy that you saw the festival in Albuquerque. And, even better, that you’re in Paris for strawberry season. Yum! Gorgeous Paris Fraise Letter, Carol. ❤️

The balloon fiesta is amazing- so much color. And the slow and stately ascent and the sound of the roaring burners….

  4. Flying strawberries - what fun! I have a couple of your other flying over the Eiffel Tower letters, they are great.
I am still able to buy locally grown strawberries here, though it’s autumn and nearly winter, the advantages of living in Australia!
All your obsessions sound excellent to me ๐Ÿ™‚

Ah, French strawberries. One morning while departing early to catch a train to Avignon from our rental in Bonnieux, I opened the front door directly onto the trottoir. Voilร , barquettes of strawberries lined up along the buildings all the way up to the village square. Market day! And we were leaving! In that strawberry moment, I made plans for the following year. We would return to Bonnieux, same rental, and make sure our two-week stay would include two market days during strawberry season. And so it came to pass.

I went up in a balloon many years ago. I closed my eyes during take off and It was so smooth, I didn’t realize we had even lifted. On the thrill meter between 1-10, I would give it a 1. It wasn’t scary at all.

As someone who is afraid of heights, I was amazed at how much I enjoyed a balloon ride. Talk about peaceful! Imagine no sound other than the air passing by!!!

Poirot’s were “little gray cells.” But perhaps our little brain cells are indeed gray? If it’s an incentive, at least in America landing is celebrated with a bottle of champagne! Pas mal.

I was an enthusiastic parachutiste but have no desire to ride in a hot-air balloon. Like you, though, I do enjoy photographs of those balloons floating in the air. And, having done mandatory fraise-picking as a young teenager, I think I will wait for a Paris Framboise Letter! Leslie in Oregon

I've always, ALWAYS, always wanted to go up in a hot air balloon...but never been in the right place, at the right time, with the right amount of money! That trip over the Loire looks divine. PS Please remember everyone to never NEVER let your latex balloons go free. They cause terrible deaths among marine creatures.

  14. All magnifique, my friend. (The flying cherries reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in "Funny Face" during the photo shoot with the balloons! Love the strawberries. I'll pass on the balloon flight, I think. I get woozy looking down a five story balcony!

  16. Wow! The flying tomatoes were a favourite of mine and I love how you used the same idea with the strawberries! I saw they are selling strawberry plants nearby..maybe I should do like the woman in your painting and buy one to put in my balcony :-) Xx Solli
