Lignes & Couleurs, Dessiner Le Paysage - Meet Juliette Plisson

Meet my watercolor friend and artist, JULIETTE PLISSON .

We met in Clermont Ferrand at one of those Carnet de Voyage exhibitions.
Juliette is queen of
leporello sketchbooks among so many other things.
She makes her own leporellos with great speed! You can buy a Leporello blank or filled from Juliette.
I love ❤️ her Venice St. Marco accordion book. Juliette has such a loose and free style.
Juliette has a M.O.F. in scarf-tying
I’ve constantly request demos but have yet to master the art…

Juliette’s background training was as an architect, which means she can draw or paint anything in any medium. Does Juliette ❤️ Love red?
Like buildings, landscapes,
And figures.
If there is a carnet de Voyage event or artistes Salon going on, be it Montreil or Venice, Juliette will be there.
Her next carnet event will be in Orleans next Saturday.
And then in Dinard in Brittany end of the month. I want to go to both.
And a 2-day stage/workshop in Paris 18/19 Avril,2023
Most mornings you can find Juliette sketching and drinking coffee☕️  in some Paris cafe…
I invited Juliette for coffee to Berthillon, where we sketched like mad.
Juliette’s favorite pens - a Lamy Global and her special mystery pen.
I love visiting Juliette’s studio
It’s a tad chaotic like mine…
Publisher Eyrolles loved Juliette’s work and asked her to create a how-to book ๐Ÿ“• Voila
Lignes et couleurs, dessiner le paysage: Excursions de la mer ร  la ville.
It’s brilliant ๐Ÿ‘
Especially if you can’t draw buildings
And seascapes
And want to know how color works.
And it will be coming out in English ! ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿพ‍♀️๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š I will def let you know when that is!
I hope you enjoyed meeting Juliette. Her website is here.
And her Instagram. And facebook. Bon Friday PBers ❤️✏️๐Ÿป

Carol, I can never thank you enough for putting me in touch with Juliette when I was in Paris before Covid. Sitting with her in those cafes, her students drawing each other and our croissants and painting the surrounding buildings...heaven. Juliette, you are a lovely person and an exceptional artist! Hope to see you when next I visit Paris.

  7. Thank you for a wonderful introduction to an artist whose work I think I will just love. Ithink I've clicked on every link you included and plan to devour them all. I can see why you've become good friends and kindred spirits. The Carnet sounds wonderful and oh, what joy it would be to attend! I want details (especially on the English edition of Juliet's book!)

  9. I love seeing other people’s sketchbooks and studio spaces. When you show your space I look it over carefully for ideas that I’d like to use. I’m constantly changing up my creative corner in my condo! One day I want to go to a sketchbook show. I’m in Vancouver Canada and I’ve never heard of them having one. One day in Paris I might see you at one!

      How interesting Glynis!
      Look for UrbanSketchers Vancouver.
They are Everywhere and have lots of get togethers. They do sketch walks every weekend. Anyone can join and its free. I found plenty of them on Google at Facebook & Meetup etc. Go for it ✏️

  11. I love both of your works, similar yet different. Watercolor has always been a favorite medium of mine and if I had any artistic talent, it would have been my medium. Juliette appears to be a delightful person - always smiling and looking like she is enjoying herself.

Really wonderful. I envy you both for your artistic talent. Whenever I’ve tried to draw, it looked like I stuck the pen between my toes. No skill whatsoever.

Carol, what a great issue of "Paris Breakfast" -
I learned about Julliette Plisson's work, about Carnet de Voyage and the leporello sketchbook.
    Thank you! Dee Ann
