Chanel Fall 23/24
Yesterday I was in my PJs at 9:50am drawing ✏️& suddenly I remembered. I ran out the door to get to grand palais ephemere for the Chanel Fall Show! starting at 10:30.Never mind yesterday was a citywide strike/greve. Chanel’s iconic Camellia was the theme.
Yesterday my Metro was closed. I hopped on a 72 bus and prayed🙏 At Pont d’Alma I was ready to walk, but a 92 came along. I wasn’t even sure Chanel would be at Grand Palais Ephemera?? Still praying🙏 I grabbed a chausson au pomme from Lenotre for fortitude. Pastry comes 1st. Yes, there were throngs of gawpers & photographers🍾 I was the only one shooting with an iPad… Yes, Chanel show attendees were just coming out👏🤸🏾♀️ Including heart-throb Cha Eun-woo. A big shout went out. Everyone came running 🏃 including me 😊 Almost everyone was wearing PINK. Was Pink a requirement on the invitation? Everyone was tickled pink, all happy and smiling. Much better to shoot 📸 AFTER the show than BEFORE. *Note booties that are faux sandals 👡 Going in everyone is so stressed about getting there on time ⏰ or even being let in. A passport is required. The mini PINK ‘IT’ bag (a Jacquemus knockoff?) Everyone wanted to be carrying. It’s the grand finale of the week. It’s always held at Grand Palais except now closed for renovations. A few outliers refuse to wear Chanel head-to-toe, probably Parisians. A lot of jeans 👖 lewks Iloved this young girl’s effort to Chanelorize The Runway models are not Chanelorized. Just tired… The ‘posers’ always show up (not invitées) to do their walk of fame missing the little Chanel gift bag… And what about that Spring pink? Solli said even Kitchen Aid released a pink machine recently. Pink makes us happy. In Switzerland, the calming effects of pink are used in prisons on cell walls. Pink Camellias are abundant in our courtyard like at Chanel show 🌸 So I painted a Camellia 🌸 Boy did I need some PINK happy feeling coming home from Chanel. I got on bus 63 bus at Pont d’Alma and the driver announced, “We are going straight to Gare de Lyon! No Stops” We sat there like sheep 🐑 🐑🐑 Then he let us off near Île de la Cité 👏🤸🏾♀️😊 🌸
Love today’s post! I happened upon a similar fashion week moment a couple of years ago. Such fun to see the outfits and watch the crowd swooning over celebrities!

DeleteFunny to see that PINK is THE color of Spring. Many kitchen brands are releasing new products in pink now too...thats why I colored my nails in pink 🌸 for the video I made for the Swedish kitchen brand! Solli

ReplyDeleteI remember back in the days when I was photographing PFW, the federation of fashion, mode a Paris website, always published the schedules AND the locations...they used to hand out the schedule in a nice notebook outside the shows...but that was 13 years ago. Before the proliferation of iPhones when everyone became a photographer! K
I remember those days when you knew where to show up to shoot. Now its nightmare unless you know someone 😳 on the inside. I don’t know the right people

DeleteI’m into Korean dramas, I’ve watched many. When I saw your pic of singer/actor Cha Eun-woo I remembered I saw him in Rookie Historian, one of my favs. I see he’s in so many more dramas but some aren’t on Netflix. Give them a try, they’ll grow on you.

ReplyDeleteThanks Maribel/Klara ❤️ I did have a ball. I was shooting like mad. I was dizzy by the end and ran to grab lunch in a cafe, La Terrasse, where many of the attendees were also eating. Their black mini Chanel gift bags sat on all the tables! I continued to take pics 😊
DeleteFor me, the standout was the woman in pink suit, tulle underskirt, button shoes and great haircut. She knows who she is.

ReplyDeleteI’m on the fence about wearing that intense Milk of Magnesia pink. I think only young women can pull it off. Loved the women that mixed it up the most…those not in head-to-toe Chanel.
Now…what was inside their ‘Goodie Bags”…did you catch a peek at lunch??
Someone opened theirs at the table - some Camellia treatment cream thing it looked like…

DeleteHow very fun. We will be in Paris during PFW in September and hope we can come upon one of the shows ending. I love pink but rarely wear it anymore.
