Maison Christine Ferber, Niedermorschwir

 If you love ❤️ jam, especially Christine Ferber jam

A trip to Niedermorschwir is a delight. 


Maison Christine Ferber offers so many surprises. 
Access to many rare seasonal flavors you may not find elsewhere. 
A treasure chest of culinary and Alsacian goodies.

There are many of Ferber’s baker’s dozen of excellent cookbooks. 

The newest one - a collaboration with her favorite Alsacian artist, Guy Untereiner. More to come on this.

Dear Coco Jobard showed me this jam jar dishtowel/torchon de confitures of Guy Untereiner years ago. It was instant love❤️I’m still searching for it. Coco knew everyone in the French food world and designed-styled several of Christine’s cookbooks.

By 10 o’clock on Sunday morning (which is early for the French) the shop was buzzing with customers. 

We had already visited at least 4-5 times😊 
The desserts were particularly enthralling. There are daily plats du jours you can take home/emporter. 
The Alsacian classic kougelhopf sits in the front window.

I finally found an Alsacian stork in residence👏🥂🤸‍♂️
Saturday evening Christine invited us to a feast at the Maison Bleu, an exceptionally authentic restaurant for local dishes. 
Including THREE of her stunning desserts from the shop! 
In the afternoon I was madly painting her jam jars as a petite cadeau 🎁 
Sunday morning before returning back to Paris, Christine let us watch her hand-make chocolate-enrobed exquisite little cookies. 
This morning I tried to paint them but I ate too many cookies  in the process😳
 
What a
glorious trip we had to visit Niedermorschwir and Maison Christin Ferber. I will be dreaming about it and hoping to return soon… You must too🙏 Do not forget the fabulous wine routes to travel. Thanks for reading Parisbreakfast.     Carol, your recent posts have really cheered me up as I recover from nasty foot and ankle surgery, done in the hope that I’ll be able to walk around Paris again in the not too distant future!

      You will not be disappointed. We stayed at Hotel de l’Ange just across the street. We had at least 4 Christine Ferber jams for breakfast! Very reasonable too.

      I could not resist the red dotty piggy bank and many other things in the shop. I never left empty-handed. So many things to discover like a little notebook hidden in a corner. It is like a dolls house. You keep discovering things !

    I am an ardent fan of CF’s jams…always one of the first things we buy to stock our kitchen when arriving in France…and again, putting in a supply to bring home with us when we leave.   15. I love your post…love CF jams. ❤️ A jam map is a great idea to introduce people to her jams. You tend to think, how different could jam be?? But her jams are like a whole different species! So fresh tasting…like eating real fruit. Yum!

  18. I so enjoyed your post about Colmar. We visited there during a Christmas Markets tour. If you haven’t been to Strasbourg for their Christmas markets you really need to go. It was absolutely magical - almost beyond words ( and lots of storks) . You’d love it !!!!
