It's that time of year for my fav annual Paris event - Salon de l'Agriculture.
Look at this ancient bleu. The Salon is also a great opp to research a region of France you've been longing to visit. Loads of maps, flyer, people to talk to about visiting.
At last I got a reclette sandwich! There's a slice of ham buried under all that molten cheese. Years of temptation paid off. Worth every calorie.
Clever picnickers eating their goodies on the floor. Why not? There are dozens of restaurants if you want to sit down to a proper regional meal (usually about 25-30€).
This classy wine guy wanted to sell me a case of his fine Chateauneuf de pape (49€ a bottle). Why not 6 cases. He even calculated the damage. Half a glass of this stuff and he had my address.
The Alsaciens never disappoint. I bought a bucket of delish choucroute with Riesling (6€). The French love food in buckets I've concluded. I buy Greek yogurt in a bucket (4,85€). Mustard comes in buckets.
Not oysters though I wouldn't mind. I always get a half dozen Brittany oysters (8,50€) just shucked.
There are so many exhibiton buldings to visit at the salon. It takes a week easily. Especially if you're fond of rabbits (and cows, chickens, sheep, pigs etc).Time to dream of bunnies and Easter chocolate bunnies to come. Thanks for reading Parisbreakfast. If you like this post and want to support it, do buy Paris letters, maps and bunny watercolors or forward to a friend.
Bon Lundi PBers!
Love your bunnys!
ReplyDeleteTake a look at the way that bunny has his ears cocked!! His mama told him that was the most photogenic position. So darn cute!!
ReplyDeleteCan anyone attend this event? It seems almost worth planning a trip around?!
ReplyDeleteAnyone at all. Check the link in the first caption. The dates are set for 2018. 10 days of glorious eating and petting. The best way to cisit France's regions without leaving Paris.
DeleteThe wine guy is cute! Did that have any impact on your decision to buy? ;)
ReplyDeleteVery suave. I didn't buy a thing! Just a game of pretend :))
DeleteI don't even drink.
Maybe it's the wine I had at dinner or the big black dog that lives with me....but I could actually pet that first black rabbit! without closing my fingers around his neck!
ReplyDeleteI'm proud of you Jeanette!
DeleteVery sweet and Very big bunnies.

ReplyDeleteToo late for this year Deb. It ended on Sunday :((
DeleteLove your bunnies, Carol, and this event always looks good but I'm sure I'd just walk around eating & talking to the wine guy (and I love wine so he'd probably have a sale with me).
ReplyDeleteAt least you'd get a nice free taste as I did.
DeleteNo sale though... Hahah
Love your bunny wc's!
ReplyDeleteDone on the spot...?
I sketched the bunnies on the spot and painted in when I got home.
DeleteIt was too crowded there to paint.
My favorite for sure!
