Ohhhh, memories! I once stayed in Apt at the most beautiful apartment for a week. Each day we traveled out from there to explore that part of France. Beautiful!
I LOVE Provence..eye candy partout..we were in Gordes and Tourrettes-sur-Loup and and traveled round visiting..everywhere I looked..pretty was there.Seeing people tending their pots like your gentleman..was equally visible in Umbria and Tuscany.. the care and attention..oh my. Enjoy.
Thanks for whetting my appetite for my trip. After a week in Paris, I am doing a small group tour of Provence, and we will be in this area for a few days. Can't wait, as it looks fabulous!
I LOVE this village! Spent a week there a few years ago in a gite with 5 or 6 painters. I was the chauffer and the only one speaking French. It was the last week in June with the poppys and lavender in full bloom. The market day in Apt is very good.
love the Luberon, Carol! My daughter did her junior year abroad in Avignon and I got to spend 30 days with her that December/January. We visited Apt and the Gorge as well as so many other historic and beautiful places nearby! I never made it to the marché in Apt, but I've heard it is terrific! I'll be looking forward to more photos of your stay and maybe some watercolors???
bought one of my favorite scarves nearly 12 years ago now in the market in Apt . . . one of those things I picked up without thinking too much of it and has turned out to be something that I wear again and again all spring and fall.
Bonjour ! I’m Carol Gillott, a former NYer living on Île Saint-Louis in a 21 meter chambre de bonne. Describe what you love about France in 3 words. Can we make it 5 words? Eyes, ears, nose, tastebuds + brain. Paris stimulates all my senses constantly. I’m inspired all the time – endlessly surprised and amused. New York doesn’t do it for me anymore…

ReplyDeleteThank you for that wish, Carol. What beautiful light and colors are surrounding you! xo
ReplyDeletewhile pretty happy where I am right now, my second choice would be right there in the photos wandering the streets. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorge indeed! What is that iron thing on the sidewalk with the cat?
ReplyDeleteTo keep the cars off..a something or other..
DeleteA Provençal ballard I presume.
DeleteIt;d awfully short for a bollard....many cars, especially those awful SUVs could drive right over it! Perhaps the camera angle is misleading me.
DeleteBeautiful color palette on the buildings/door/shutters/windows! Il est excellent! ;-)
