If you can't go out in the streets of Paris to shoot fashion have it come to you. This is Michele's bag from Zara(40€) and sadly long gone but one can still covet...
Michele's trés charmante collier/necklace was a gift so no prix or source for you...desolée.
Michele, since I met her in 2005 in New York at the Christo Central Park artworks, is always dressed with simplicity, chic and wit.
So was the lovely meal - rotisserie chicken, 1 bio tomate,
Cerises and bitter almond amarettos made especially for the Pope. Who knew?
Michele's stripe coat is Max Mara.
M says, "Sonia Rykiel did NOT invent the stripe!"

Her socks/chausette are Swiss, mens and bought in Paris from Gawd knows where. Ze shoes are Italian.
Susan's shoes are from OFR, a very off-beat hipster place in the Haut Marais.
They co-ordinate perfectly with the framboise eclaire she brought me. Miam Miam
On Sunday Swedish blogger Solli brought me disinfectant, cotton and this divine creamy, merangie thing from Aux Merveilles de Fred.
I had to borrow this pic of Solli, who is always stunningly dressed even if it's raining out. It was.
Cellist Barbara Bleu came yesterday. We shared a couchette from Venice to Paris in 2005. Barbara introduced me to Michele. I covet her bag deeply, madly.
Perfectly matching cerises/cherries to her bag. Trés chic non?
Not so chic but apro po since I'm painting fraise/ strawberries for you right now. These are the famous Haribo Fraise Tagada (strawberry flavored).
These shorts. i.e. Never !!! From NastyGal.com in case you're interested. Meanwhile it's glorious here in Paris and my voisin/neighbors are picnicing on their terrasse eating chicken, cerises and Fraise Tagada.
Happy times are here again!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you have all those charming visitors who carry comfort and delicious food. Your images exude beauty and delight, such good winsing fun!

YOU did all the grocery shopping:ham, roquette, Chockie bars !!
Major big time
I recognize the multi-color mary-jane shoes as BERNIE MEVS. these are the most comfortable shoes EVER. that's EVER. because they are all-over elastic, they conform to one's feet. last time I was in Paris (16 days) these were the only shoes I brought, and my feet never hurt. jamais! I have 3 pair in black.
DeleteI've just ordered my first pair of BERNIE MEVs, just from seeing them on this blog. I cannot wait to try them out...always looking for comfortable but stylish shoes! Thanks.
DeleteAta' girl! Make Paris come to you!
ReplyDeleteLove the view from the window!
Quelles bonnes amies et quel fun post!
ReplyDeleteGoing to see you ..
So nice of your friends to check in on you so you don't go hungry.

I'm so jealous that I can't easily bring you something! Glad there are so many others taking up the slack! Love all the fashion at No. 18 as well.

Deletedid you ever order from Monop?
If I could conquer that one I could have all the Haribo I require!!
And Aux Merveilles de Fred is as close to heaven as I can imagine. The boutique on rue Monge just means heaven is a little closer.
ReplyDeletethis post makes me want to sing Bette Midler's Friends .. thankfully for everyone i can't be heard .. alas unlike Bette I am tone deaf ..
ReplyDeleteWhere, oh, where did you buy your fabulous tablecloth??? Is it a sketch of Versailles Gardens? That's what it looks like to me. Where can I get one?
ReplyDelete2 dish towels from the giftshop at muse Carnavale.
DeleteThe placemats are still at the Louvre from the Le Notre exhibit at Versailles...I wrote about them..

DeleteI love your rainbow bag in your picture. Sorry you broke your leg! Hope you are doing better.
ReplyDeleteLida
The rainbow stripped bag is a Sonia rykiel knockoff I bought in the marche Monge for 7 euros (!)

ReplyDeleteWhere to find BERNIE MEVS in Paris is the question??

ReplyDeletethe mountain must come to Mohammad.
So this is the silver lining, lovely friends bearing gifts of not only goodwill and laughter, but delicious food.I didn't see any wine.
ReplyDeleteVery creative post, and really fun for all of us.
How lovely to have friends stop by for a fashion show and food. My daughter has a bag very similar to the yellow one, but in brown, and I covet. Also love the red bag and those shoes with the bag too! You do have a lovely view to observe as you heal. Take care and looking forward (not as much as you are) to your healing and being out and about again.
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to have a few friends drop by :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a post!
I hope that things are improving....
Nice to see Bear, too - and the view out the window!
YES Please dew drop Inn
DeleteI'm so very glad you have wonderful friends to keep you amused, fed and offer their eye candy of fashion! It may not remove the pain, but perhaps the sting!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to see your friends step up to the plate! And with such apropos gifts!
ReplyDeleteCarol,those socks are SOMETHING ELSE!!!
ReplyDeleteI am a HUGE sock fan! Love keeping my tootsies warm and comfy!Looking chic is icing on the cake!
A friend(who happens to be a doctor)long ago told me a great bit of advice: keep good friends at your side and put good food in your body. That is exactly what you are doing!
Especially enjoy the pictures out of your apartment window!
(preferably with Bear in them of course)(!)Beautiful views!
(our place overlooked stadium by the Parc du Prince;not being sports fans it definitely left something to be desired!)
You certainly deserve all the wonderful friends who are by your side ... in spite of your injury, you are doing so well in Paris.
ReplyDeleteI love my monthly mailings ... and recommend them to anyone.
Hang in there ... it won't be too long that your wings are clipped. And enjoy your friends ... x

Carol, I've just left a comment over at Janice's place.
ReplyDeleteI know that this Parisienne experience, though not so expected or welcomed, will enrich your Parisian life. You really are living there now, dear Carol. xo
Love, love, love Michele's music necklace....and her blue check socks. And Barbara's shoes! Hope the foot is better today.
ReplyDeleteLove those socks, and everything else too! Carol, soak up all this pampering from good friends! You may need to hire a social assistant for the duration, so you can fit all your fans in! It looks like it's hoppin' at your place! Thinking of you in the glow of sunshine out your window, Leslie G.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your blog and even more since i just returned from a week in the 7th. Like you said the weather has been delightful and a little rain was not bad at all.
ReplyDeleteHope you heal quickly and perfectly and that your friends keep visiting. They are all so kind,
I must say .... you seem to be having great fun while you are "in cast"! :-) How nice to have such kind, attentive friends to keep you entertained and bring such tasty goodies to eat. Your "down-time" will be over before you know it. It seems I have recently purchased a pair of shoes like those shown in one of your pictures. Who knew I had the good sense to purchase something that would be so stylish in Paris. They are soooo comfy and weigh mere ounces.
ReplyDeleteP.S. After learning how your readers describe the (multi-color, elastisized) shoes as Bernie Mevs, the brand in my part of the world (southeast USA) seems to be Corkys--in case anyone should try to find them. Very reasonably priced, even in a small boutique-type shop.
ReplyDeleteInteresting fashion blog. Michele has a real flair. Janice is a darling---your photo of her exudes a kind of positive life force.
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of you! You have turned this whole disaster into fun. And you're bringing us right along with you. You looked absolutely adorable in Janice's photo. Loved the photos of all your gal pals and the intro to Solli's work and blog. i spend so much time following the exploits of all of you that my local friends are feeling neglected and a bit envious!
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing better. Love your bag.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're being well taken care of during your recovery!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteWell done lovely Carol friends!
