Marché des Enfants Rouges Map, Spaghetti Vongole

Very sad news yesterday of the fire 🔥

Did you ever visit?

Located at 39, rue de Bretagne

In the heart ❤️ of

 Of the Upper Marais, 75003.

Built in 1615 by Louis XIII.

BY FRÉDERIC HOUBRON
in 2000 after 6 years of renovations.

Such a vibrant place,

Full of multi-culti

Delicious food

20 lively vendors.

In 2016

I made a Paris map 🗺️

Of MARCHÉ DES ENFANTS ROUGES, rue de Bretagne.

My last visit was April 2 of this year.

Renown for their

‘
Clean plate Club’
Spaghetti Vongole.

The one thing I really miss

From the states 🇺🇸 is CLAMS…

Simply not the same as Surf City Cherry Stones.

After trying some other places
(all unsatisfactory -empty shells!)
I know you are NOT supposed to smother Parmigiana on Italian fish 🐟 dishes but…it adds zing.
The last time at the poissonnerie I ended up with a KILO (2.5 pounds) of clams, so I’m taking a rest from Spaghetti Vongole for a while.
I hope it doesn’t take 6 years to rebuild
le Marché des Enfants Rouges🙏

The website link made me wish for a vibrant multi-culti life. I will do one special thing today. I will also learn about Les Enfants Rouge.

By any chance, is your drawing with Marché des Enfants Rouges available? I would love to purchase it. I still remember visiting the place a long time ago. K

We first visited many years ago and stood inline to get our sandwich from Alain Miam Miam. Quite a memorable experience. So sad about the fire but I'm sure they will rebuild.

His sandwiches were world 🌎 famous. I think I had one once. Bucket list.

I loved going there. All the smells, the vast collection of fishies, the vendors...the whole vibe of the place was fantastic. It will be sorely missed.

Yes, just walking through was a mood upper - such a lively, happy place.

So sad that it has been lost to a fire! Touching that it was named after the nearby orphanage with its children dressed in red clothing. Hopefully it will be rebuilt, but much is lost trying to replicate an original. Love your clams vongole…your creativity shows even in your cooking!

The renovation in 2000 was a replica of an older marché.

Let's hope it can be restored as it is a cultural icon. Also it is the food industry, suppliers, cleaners, and related merchants who are out of a job because of the fire. That is a tragedy as employment is key. It can be redone but with a better safety system installed perhaps. I wish all well about this. A relative has been through many things in the food industry and this is one of the worst things to happen.
