True, we're having nightly rains causing la Seine to rise up precipitously. Its raining again today.
Jane's sketch of la Belle Epoch stairway, one of many in the Petit Palais
We sketched outside too. That's Invalides across from Pont Alexandre III
I ran inside and grabbed a mini croissant for them to nibble on. They were rather blasé...they must get Lenotre croissants daily.
Today, though the rain has returned I'm trying to capture them in watercolor. How'd I do? A fun way to get rid of the Winter Blahs.

Bonjour ! Merci Carol. Cuicui Cuicui - en langage d’oiseau
ReplyDeleteMille merci JANE! (Une phrase française). !!!
DeleteGOOGLE TRANSLATE:Hello ! I'm Jane from the train, French with english name. How lucky to meet Carol and her fantastic drawings and watercolors, is not it? We can now taste Paris - and its croissants - to many! I love the inner garden of the Petit Palais and I loved these shared moments, a sunny winter day, with sparrows. What a joy to find them on this blog! Thank you Carol. Cuicui Cuicui - in bird language

ReplyDeleteHave you ever thought about getting a little camera stand and setting it up and doing a drawing a day take a picture of what you’re doing and then do a quick little Sketch. I would pay for thst to see that every day
I just finished a new blog post and I guess it was also about winter blahs! Un jour j'aimerais bien faire la connaissance de Jane et de croquer avec vous deux! Vous avez passé une belle journée! Thank you for sharing it, Carol!! I hate the plane ride, but am trying to motivate to visit Paris one of these days!
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly is required to motivate you?
DeleteYou will kick yourself severely for waiting so long once here.
J'ai te promis!!
My husband and I just got back from a couple of days in Paris. We had two good days of no rain but it was killer chilly outside! Still, we had a great time, and I love how festive the city looks post-Noel.
ReplyDeleteToday the sun came out for 3 hours solid.
DeleteThan the rains came again. But temps are mild.
That's Paris for ya.
Unpredictable but always beautiful at night!
Sweet birds! Cold as all get out here in Michigan -- a greaet time for staying inside and painting. And from where I sit, Noel could continue a long time! Beats cold white winter!
ReplyDeleteI can relate.
ReplyDeleteI am more rotunda than I used to be.
If I was in Paris, I would not have the winter blahs. The post today shows me where I would want to be. So I will imagine sitting in a tropical garden with birds. Love the sparrow watercolors. Our sparrows never get plump. Great post - picked me up. Thanks Marilyn
ReplyDeleteLoved today’s post you and Jane did over the weekend. Little sparrows so cute! You did great!
ReplyDeletelove the birds/ thank you for the smile
ReplyDeleteA bit jealous of the little sparrows and their daily croissant fix! You and Jane have great pictures, thanks for sharing them and your day out sketching in rain free Paris. It’s summer here so no winter blahs, just end of summer holidays blahs this week (back to work next week!)
