Maison Objet 2016

From Jan 22-26 the massive marvelous Maison Objet is held out at Paris Nord Villepinte
I ran out the 1st day end o' day hoping to catch as much as possible. This is Halle 6
There are 7 more Halles just as huge to visit. The show is international separated by country and subject.
I made it to just 2 halles.
I love the patterns of the displays.
The figures bring it alive.
I still don't know how to 'do' this twice-a-year mammoth show.
I'm always a fan of Challieres bird cage lamps

Belle de Sucre specializes in exquisite tea time sugars
In a variety of colors and whimsical shapes.
Perfect to go with Netherlands's Pip Studios floral china.
Oui o non?

Everything is designy at Maison Objet even the food has patterns.

I fell hard for Dejeuner sur l'Herbe's stars over Christmas

My checks, dots and stars are coming together on the home front!

Now I just need a paper doggie from Essent'ial to go with it all.

And bunny cups from British HamMade.com

More whimsy from Darling Clementine Norway.

After 3 hours traipsing through just 2 halles of Maison Objet

I was ready to collapse into a bunny chair (with a bunny cup perhaps?)

Or a faux birch bench in a faux forrest

But they shooed us out at closing time.
I went home, slept for 10 hours straight, my head full of dots & dashes. Just a few more patterns for you.
The letter charts up on Etsy. Voila!

Alain Ducasse - Naturalité - Plaza Athenee

This in one of the busiest weeks on the Paris calendar for events, tastings and openings. Maison et Objet brings everyone to town so it's the perfect opp.

Alain Ducasse, king of French cuisine with the most Michelin stars invited journalists to view his new documentary ,'Naturalité' at 9:30 am no less at the Grand Palais

Ducasse is going super organic/bio in his new restaurant at the Plaza Athénée. No meat will be served.

He spoke passionately of his concept and convictions for the new restaurant

Only fresh-caught seafood and legumes from small producteurs

We all got snacks of  cold-pressed juice from Nubiö and a Ducasse nut bar.

After we walked over to the Plaza Athenée to see the newly designed restaurant.

Chic.

Chic.

Chic. I have absolutely NOTHING to wear to these events PBers. Problems in Paradise...

On Avenue Montaigne at the hotel

If you're not walking please bring your cobalt Bugatti.

Plaza Athénée's awnings are appropriately radish red (see Ducasse's logo above).

Trés elegant

The Plaza Athénée bar is newly redone by the fabulous design team Patrick Jouin. Note the huge dazzling rock crystal bar tended by Thierry Hernandez.

The astonishing fabric-draped ceiling reflects Paris' haute couture.

Giant cloche dome forms reflect the chandeliers..more  dazzle.

The table candle lights reflect

Reminding me of shiny decorative spheres at Maison Objet...

In the back a cabinet des curiosités - from musée Christofle.

Why do I not have a yellow vintage thread-bare Chanel jacket to wear PBers? What is one to do?

Drinks? Fresh-squeezed Granny Smith apple juice of course.

And freshly-line-caught Sardines and Mullet bien sur.
And Ducasse's iconic radis (radish) iced and farci.
Do watch his 15-minute film Naturalité.
It will be good for your French.

Maison et Objet 2014

Bear and his friend have not packed. Even though we're all moving TODAY!

We decided to check out the huge fabulous MAISON et OBJET show yesterday at the Villepinte Nord exhibition center to look for a few items for our new mouse hole.

We're definite about needing this Armani table ware for our new digs that's for sure.

There are 8 big halls to cover and over 3,000 exhibitors. No wonder people bring rolling suitcases for all the fab catalogs.
We mainly stayed in the Cook + Design hall #3 since we didn't wish to kill ourselves like last year's Maison et Objet.
We already have a recessed shower closet but who wouldn't love a splendid bathtub in the middle of the room?

A handsome armchair and matching china from Gien France would hit the spot.

Perhaps placing the chair ON top of the table is a way better idea

Bibelots may be a no-no for lack of space from Ateliers C et S Davoy.

But we fell hard for everything from Spanish decor company Guardarte.

This greeny head is an essential.

Two faux 17th century busts will look nice in the hallway (if I had a hallway…).

Everyone requires a peacock on the dining room table (if you happen to have a dining room. I don't).

From Swedish SIA a wall of faux flowers to bring the outside in.

A wall of Damann teas is perfect when guests drop by.

Hanging from the rafters (again if I had them) a slew of French copper pots.

Plus plenty of wine carafes for evening entertainment.

There are tastings, lectures and demos going on all the days of Maison Objet - a don't-miss in my opinion. In hall 3 I heard pastry chefs, Francois Perret of Hotel Shangri-La and Fabien Rouillard of Fauchon chat with marketing chef Karine Legoux of Angelina about 'Le tea time, petit luxe à (ré)enchanter'. Heard is the operative word here. Understood is another matter.

There are plenty of treats in hall 3 like velvety jams from Sens et Savor.

Greenpan was serving Brazilian feojioda in their terrific ceramic non-stick pots and pans.

I will need a complete set of only orange Le Creuset ware non?

Even though none of the bears or myself drink coffee you have to have an espresso maker and it might as well be snazzy Italian Bugatti.

These bright crumpled cups from Revol will do nicely to serve it in.

With tableware from my fav, Sabre Paris. they have a shop to boot on rue St. Sulpice.

I would love to have daily deliveries of France's oldest artisanal limonade-maker Elixia.

If not I'll DIY with Sodastream. The French have redesigned it plus added flavoring cups. YUM Scarlette Johansen is their new spokesperson. No wonder she moved to France.

A live-in Monbano chocolate chef is another essential. The bears may have to move out sadly.
Making chocolate lollypops/sucettes all day long of course.

French women don't get fat
French women don't get facelifts
French women DO eat lollypops none-stop

By this time with all the added accoutrements in my new mouse hole (20 meters big) I'll be hanging from the rafters if I had them. Instead I plan to learn how to make a proper tarte tatin au pomme like I tasted at Maison et Objet. The fair is on through Tuesday. Do go if you can. And take the RER B for heavens sake not the navettes - just 15-20 minutes from Gare du Nord. Now I must go pack!
