What Parisians are wearing in La Canicule

This morning around 5 am out my window 🪟

What I am drinking non-stop to stay cool 😎 Paper-thin slices of English cucumber 🥒 in San Pellegrino

I went out early looking for mangos 🥭

Why was I surprised

To see everyone

Looking

So cool & chic?

It can’t be fun for guys having to wearing suits to work

Even little French girls in their pastel cotton dresses.

I browsed the cool 🥶 looking yogurts

And ended up with Cottage Cheese/Faisselle (which I pronounced like vaisselle meaning dish). Nice to have them in individual cups (on the right) so they don’t go off.

Even though I would have LOVED ❤️ to dive into a bucket of mousse 🍫 chocolat…

In the supermarché they were playing perfect HEATWAVE music 🎵 from Brasil - BEBEL Gilberto.

Along the Seine I saw a woman walking 🚶‍♀️ SIDEWAYS!

Are you into all these RICHARD FEYNMAN AI videos
I’m addicted. Evidently 60 seconds of sideways stepping activates more than 30 minutes of forward walking ever could.
I’m willing to try.

This doggie 🐶 does not want to put his paws on that hot 🥵street

Today it’s 87 degrees (feels like 98). Whoops 😬 Now it says 100 degrees.

C/O of BBC
I am sitting here in a very wet COLD T-shirt 👕

The ICE CREAM 🍦 EATERS are undeterred by the heat.

As are the

Leopard 🐆 print

Wearers.

Fortunately I had on my 🐆 print Monop baseball cap 🧢

Bonnie let me know that INES SAYS Everyone is wearing flip flops in Paris. I did not see any. Do you?

Funny boat 🚤 on the Seine, looking like they belonged in Tahiti or Vietnam. What do you think?

Foodie Signs up

What to eat in MAY

Isn’t it early for cherries 🍒

They gave out seasonal food guides at Bio C’ Bon

I tried to paint the morning🔥 sun 🌞 rise with no success.

I tried in 2020…

At least it is cool in the entryway…if only I could sleep 😴 there 🤔

Remember when you used to visit Paris and you commented on how Parisians never wear sneakers? Look at your street pictures now. What a change!

I have noticed the same. I did not notice when the sneaker trend started.

It is maybe 10 years that SNEAKERS own the rue.
      Balenciaga has them!

Paris without air conditioning (of course) -- whew! Trying to sleep with windows open and the noisy scooters buzzing all night. At least you have gelato!

Funny, I’m old enough to remember when people said you could not wear white sneakers…shorts…flip flops…or go out jogging, without Parisians ridiculing you as an uncouth American! I remember Parisiennes biking to work in the morning in very chic suits & HIGH HEELS! Times change.

Thank you for the glimpse of canicule fashion in Paris, and your tips for staying cool!
