Fête du Cidre 🍎 Beuvron en Auge

Another Sunday in Normandie

Me, I’m thinking how big can this fête be?
Only 204 201 residents in the village of Beuvron en Auge.
Boy was I wrong. It was plenty big enough.
Business was bustling
Even in the drizzle 🌧️
Which off and on became rain ☔️ I spotted the Best ‘dog of the day’ 🐶
Naturalement I refused to bring an umbrella 🌂 Such big raindrops 💧
Shannon and her sister Kathy were more sensible.
I bought a bottle of fabulous apple 🍎 juice from this lady, who was pressing it on the spot. Later in the train station, I dropped my bag. Bye, bye fresh apple juice 😭
I bought my first apple beignet (fried apple slices)
Made on the spot
Extrêmement yummy
Shannon and Kathy got the local specialty, ‘tourtes chaudes’, pastry tartes filled with sautéed mushrooms 🍄
I got a small container of Frits with Camembert sauce dribbled on top. The sauce immediately escaped out the bottom, after staining the front of my black raincoat with white splodges 😬
Shannon wandered into this très charmant Epicerie
She fell hard for the sheep soaps,
Among other things like baskets and brooms etc.
Shannon said the floors were classic Normand design.
You learn something new everyday 👍
The architecture in these parts
Can be surprisingly British Georgian style
Who knew?
But the Camembert
Is definitely all Normande = all luscious.
Biscuits 🍪
Are BIG here.
I wish I’d gotten the Camembert biscuits.
We went to supposedly the best restaurant in town
But we were too full from snacking to eat much.
Go figure 🤷🏻‍♀️
Thanks for reading Parisbreakfast.
