Yesterday

Yesterday I got an email, 'You've been pretty quiet. Are you ok?'
Marilyn xxxx Well I've been drawing like crazy to get the May PARIS letter/map done before May is actually over!! 3 guesses the subject matter?
Yesterday I took the 75 bus to newly reopened BHV to get burgundy-colored Faber Castellbrush pens for the Paris letters.
They have seriously widened the aisles in BHV.
For social distancing.
There is a newish branch of FOU DE PATISSERIE on BHV's 3rd floor. I succumbed to 1 marshmallow+ 2 small cream puffs.
EATALY is like a block away in the Marais. Yes, I had a pistache/fraise gelato.
Going into Eataly is such an upper. Love the colors.
Love the products. Especially their Spanish hard-to-find anchovies from the Cantabrico, maybe the best in the world.

What I bought yesterday: my fav Eataly salad (1 down, 2 to go), Italian ginger Kefir, tin of anchovies, Good grainy bread from Hune.
Yesterday evening I heard a roar of clapping 👏👏👏coming from the window. The Prime minister announced the second phase of decontainment. Now we can take trips beyond 100 kilometers.👏Parks are open with restrictions. And outdoor cafes etc.👏
Are you bouncing off the walls like this fab NEW YORKER cartoon by C.TOM I saw on Instagram? I recently actually started running the 6 yards from my bed to the fridge. No kidding. Its how I caught the 75 bus yesterday. Why not try this Madrid dance routine for the hot new Lady Gaga/Ariana song RAIN ON ME. What's not to love❤️🐻 Please visit our ETSY SHOP.  Keep Bear in baguettes 🥖🥖🥖Back to drawing✏️💋

    You took us to BHV!
I like going there better than the bigger Galeries Lafayette for me anyway.

I’m jealous of your abundance (among other things!). Our markets now have small amounts of all-purpose flour but still no bread flour (best for pizza). Enjoy your forays into your marvelous city.

    1. I noticed in Eric Kayser they are selling blé.
All the boulangeries are. I guess there have been shortages here too.

  6. I see you also got goodies to add to the maps or letters. The salad looks good & I'll have to try those anchovies.

    1. Definitely do try them or any from Calibrica area in Spain. I dream of going to do an immersion there... They are like silk.

This is a tri-color day for me -both your splendid April letter, today's post and an issue of Cote Ouest were in our mailbox!
The letter is inspired - the Tour, the rooftops and all those cats - I see more of them each time I look.

  10. I was wondering how you’re getting on as well. It’s been pretty restrictive for you and the bear. We at least were allowed to walk along our parks and big long ocean beach quite freely. It’s more of a village where we live now so not too many people to avoid.
So pleased you’ve had new freedoms announced.
Somehow when shops and cafes are open life seems to come back to a place.
I just love what you do and so admire the fascinating sketches and ideas you constantly come up with.

  11. do you happen to know which company is producing those small Paris street sign magnets which you posted about a few years ago?
I really want to have one of them produced with the tiny street's name where I used to stay in Paris. Could you buy any chance check the backside of the magnets? Maybe the producing company's name is on it..
    Thank you very much!!
