Finally went out at 6 pm (admittedly to look for some ice cream..). I remember thinking last night on my way to a glamorous do, how the Seine always provides such a spectacular light show. It still does, though we are very sad tonight.
I know that your ile is only a little more than 2 kilometers from the Batalan Concert Hall. Reading your blog has made me examine maps of Paris all the time. It's fascinating. Hope you are still doing OK and your Paris friends, too.
Carol-- So nice to see your post......we are holding you and Bear, and all of Paris, close in our hearts and thoughts. With much fondness & all of our best wishes. Patricia & Eric, Minneapolis, MN
Carol, Many PRAYERS and Blessings for you and my favorite city in the world, beautiful Paris. Thank you for your posts, it's good to know that you and Bear are well, I hope the same is true for all of your Parisian friends. Much Love, Desiree Llaneza....Clermont, Florida USA
I wonder how many people around the world have sent their love to France in the past few days? It makes me realize that the very things you celebrate, Carol, are what we are mourning.
Carol, Thank you for letting us know of your safety. What a relief. Hoping that your friend Elsine Sciolino and all the other wonderful friends you have made there are similarly safe. As the others have posted above, your readers are with you, in sorrow and spirit. En solidarite avec vous et avec la belle France toujours, Diane in Denver
I am still broken hearted and cannot comprehend the degree of evil that exists in the world. Hoefully, the love that we all feel, for Paris, France, each other and all of mankind will win out and the evil will be destroyed.
Bonjour ! I’m Carol Gillott, a former NYer living on Île Saint-Louis in a 21 meter chambre de bonne. As a Paris blogger, travel writer, watercolorist, and photographer, I share my latest escapades so you can walk around the city vicariously in my shoes. To experience even more of the Parisian life, sign up to receive my beautifully Illustrated monthly letters where I paint the Paris your dreams and mail them
to you wherever you are. You can order these letters, along with my art prints, at my Etsy shop.
Describe what you love about France in 3 words. Can we make it 5 words? Eyes, ears, nose, tastebuds + brain. Paris stimulates all my senses constantly. I’m inspired all the time – endlessly surprised and amused. New York doesn’t do it for me anymore…
I bet you are sad.
ReplyDeleteThis is so awful.
