New York Glitz

Bear rather over-did it last night at Thanksgiving dinner I'm afraid...
He decided on a postprandial stroll down 5th Avenue
And give you a taste of bright lights, big city.
Bergdorf's windows, as always, has outdone themselves.
 Full of magic.
 And suspense.
 Full of New York glitz.
As is the rest of 5th Avenue like the diamond cobra wrapping around the Bulgari building at East 57th street.
Jeweler Harry Winston has giant diamonds lit up from pavement to roof.
Juicy Couture is aglow in pink lights.
Cartier has diamond panthers, their icon, crawling up the building.
 And perched on a bacony.
 Go shopping PBers!
And come to New York!

  1. Oh New York around the holidays. I iss it so much. So Call just doesn't have the same vibe.

    1. New York is waiting for you Connie!
      Y'all come

Lots of drama on 5th Avenue!!
    Pretty post

  3. NYC. Very glitzy!! I can understand why you love Paris.
Hope bear has got over his 'over indulgence'
    Enjoy your weekend, shopping :-)

  4. Well, must say the New Yorkers do know how to make it!

  5. Glitz! A far cry from my little city! It's hard to imagine that just recently the city was without electricity!! Hope you had a bonne féte de Thanksgiving, Carol!

  6. So fun! :)
I'm feeling an NYC visit inspiring!

  7. I am sure you had a grand Thanksgiving:-)
I do hope to return to one and only experience was memorable..the company I had:-) ..and Mario Batali:-) in person..on the nice to us:-)
    A gentleman:-)

  8. Carol, I love your photos of night lit up Fifth Avenue. When I was over there earlier this week, all the displays were still being constructed.

I can't wait to see these gems for myself...of course, BG is always the best!

The sidewalk Christmas trees for sale have appeared on the Upper West Side today. Think that tomorrow's weather will be much cooler and will give these fragrant trees more chances to show their beauty to passersby.

  9. Ahhhhh!!! New York during Christmas time! I love it. Thanks so much for sharing this with the world - it's perhaps one of the things about NYC that I miss the most.

  10. Great shots - I love the Harry Winston "diamonds" and that panther the most.
    NYC looks great!

Thanks for this post. I love love NYC during the holidays. The windows are beautiful, and the Thanksgiving Day Parade should be seen at least once in a lifetime. The beauty counters in the major stores have the greatest gift selections. I wait all year to buy my perfume, bath supplies, and make up during the holidays I love all the little goodies they put into the gift boxes. I also like to spot "Stars" during the holidays. Just like us they like to be in NYC for the Holidays and they are out shopping too. A secret is to just look when the door of a limo opens...many times it will surprize you who gets out!!! 12. I always get nostalgic for NYC at Christmas time--my dad worked in the city, and I used to head to the city and meet my dad for lunch, and we'd go watch the skaters at Rockefeller plaza and walk all along 5th Ave and look at windows. I'll think fondly of that this year like i do every year...thanks for the reminder...xo

  16. Thanks for your thoughtful captions; you make a good photo better!

  17. I was kind of disapointed, expecting a lot more christmas lighting in NY :(
    Still it was nice :D

    1. Please forgive Deborah,
Thanksgiving day is the 1st day for New York's Xmas lights/vitrines to be exposed.
After eating a big Thanksgiving dinner you can only do so much so this is just an amuse-bouche...

  18. You made New York look as fabulous as Paris!

Love hearing from you
