Impérial chocolat au Château de Fontainebleau

Chocolate-covered madeleines are so hard to paint 🎨

Yesterday I went to opening day of Imperial Chocolat 🍫
At Chateau Fontainebleau! An easy 30 minute train ride from Gare de Lyon + waiting bus directly to the chateau.
Be prepared.
There will be brides.
The Imperial Chocolate 🍫 Salon continues through Monday/Lundi so def go if you’re here! 👏 Entry - 9€.
Before you enter the grand halls of chocolate
Visit the tents for non-chocolate samples.
There is Always a big selection of épices/spices at French chocolate salons.
And wine 🍷 bien sur for the upcoming holidays.
Exotic safran home-grown in France 🇫🇷
I can never resist the vanilla seller.
Even though I don’t bake. A few vanilla gosses/pods (never beans) make for great aromatherapy 👃 Terre de Vanille came in from Dijon, but his famille has vanilla farms in Madagascar 🇲🇬
And you can grab a crêpe before facing the chocolat.
I had a chocolat chaud from Frederic Cassel 👏 Fred is head chef of Imperial Chocolat 🍫
His shop in Fontainebleau at 71-73 rue Grand.
NOT TO BE MISSED!! Yum Yum I ate the checkerboard cookie (sablé Hollandais)  🍪 + a pain au pistache et chocolat (for dinner).
Inside the hall…
Les CHOCOLAT!
Les Chocolat de Frederic Cassel.
His Advent calendar of chateau de Fontainebleau.
Fred is celebrating 🥳 his 30th year in business ! Hooray 🎈
I almost forgot CHOCOLATE (in a bottle) CHAMPAGNE 🍾!
They are at every holiday foodie event 🥳 So delish & you can’t buy it in any liquor stores 🤷‍♀️
At this point I was ready to head back to Gare de Fontainebleau. Bus 3401 is just across from the entrance gates.
Fortunately a petit train showed up & took us back to the front.
I asked the driver if he might take us back to the gare…or better yet PARIS!? He laughed 😂
Chocolate 🍫 madeleines for breakfast ☕️
Hot chocolate anyone
?

All so interesting and beautiful! The picture of the Seine is also stunning..have you considered a small book of them? There was another a few days ago that was so uplifting also. I am always in Paris in my mind no matter if I am here where the political news is awful.

I was there too on opening day and had a nice chat with the Chocolate in a Champagne bottle guy - you can order it online in the states! He said that the American army base in Germany is a big fan and when they return to the US they are the largest group of buyers. I'll be ordering it for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's incredibly delicious.

Carol, you thoughtfully told us about this show when we were there in 2022. Do fabulous! I’ve purchased several bottles on line in the states. It’s the go to for special occasions! But it’s $50 here!
