Bear's Last Day in Paris

Carolg did NOT want to leave Paris this trip!
merci Jean-Paul Goude

A last jump into St.-Germain piscine.
I wish Carolg would stop saying,'Je neige'
when she means 'J'ai nager'..ahem
The flipflop saleswoman at Monop laughed de trop.

Post-swim a last 'reward' from nearby Pierre Herme. Ooops no kouign amann left.

Pastry expert, Raids-Petisseries said we must taste Herme's new tarte collection.

But we fell for 'Gourmandise Constellation'

Back in the rue running home we wolfed down the PH kouglof studed with dried fruit.
oh la la - quelle crunch!

The Gourmandise Constellation can NOT be eaten in the street.

 Lordie.

Then a mad rush to make order of French Girl's appart...eek

Then a mad rush to RER B to CDG.

Bear got to browse the pelouches again.

 Bear's brightest idea ever...
 A 5-minute deep full-body massage for a mere 2 near AirFrance's gate.

The trip home was amazingly pleasent thanks to that massage perhaps.

Carolg is back doing the stairs hourly
(not Parisian escalier malheueusement).
BIG NEWS!
She has to get thin for Paris
House sitting for all of July and August is on the menu.

Jean-Paul Goude/Paris!

I bought this book 'cause I love the cover. Paris graphics are terrific.
No one does it better in Paris than Jean-Paul Goude

© Photo de Jean-Paul Goude pour Galeries LafayetteThis morning surfing around a link took me to a Galeries Lafayette page full of Goude..

It's impossible to take a Metro without meeting up with Goude enroute.

The Goude Touch

I fell in love with this Paris poster/affiche the first time we met in the Metro. It still captivates. So French🇫🇷
J'adore graphiques Paris!! New York used to be terrific in this arena, mais non plus/no more.
WAKE UP NYC!!! One of the absolute maitre of French graphics is Jean-Paul Goude. Together with his muse, the fabulous GRACE JONES, they made New York and Paris jump!I was browsing Jean-Paul Goude's new book The Goude Touch and fell in love instantly.
"Goude is behind some of the wittiest billboards in Paris, in perfect control of his medium and with an intuitive sense of chic. "In an inspired moment, Galeries Lafayette gave Goude a rare degree of creative freedom, and Goude responded with some of the best work he has ever made: a modern classic of commercial art." I would so love to be this girl sitting in a champagne glass spooning out the caviar (which by the way you can pick up at Hediard to the right of the Madeleine.
A poetry affiche near St. Sulpice...
Simple, clean and witty - the Europeans have not forsaken illustration the way the US has to tell a story...
Peter's Paris showed me this crazy doorway in the back streets of the 6th arrondissement...
I'd like to be this girl too, dancing in Annick Goutal's vitrine.
Not a big poster, but a little postcard! I can see this certainment as an affiche...so witty.
I would LOVE to have this affiche hanging on my walls, not because I'm nuts for les religieuses, though I’m nuts for AngelinaThis wall poster is just so fun!
If this little ardoise was hanging next to your house you would living near the wonderful SECCO! I am so ready for that...
Lady Gaga take notes.
BONJOUR Grace et Jean-Paul Goude!

Jour de Rouge

*RED ALERT PB readers!
There is a non-believer in our midst.
Yesterday Peter's Paris brazenly left the comment,
Even if there is a lot of RED around, I wonder how many pictures you must have in stock to make a presentation like this? The guantlet has been thrown down and it is a RED one!
Here is Peter, caught red-handed or rather red-armed, as I point out to him this Parisien granny/Older French Girl wearing her brilliant red coat on rue Henry Monnier. Peter is your memory going?
I then showed Peter my fav RED shop in Paris - this brocante. He even took a picture.
By the way all of these RED photos are from just the one day I spent with you in Paris, March 23! That's Peter in case you were wondering in front of the red building.
Peter showed me this red sexy lingerie shop on Pigalle in the 9th arrondissement.
This Rather scrappy red door is the former abode of Degas - we took a pic.
Then I showed Peter, Confisier Denise Acabo. It was his first time and he went a little crazy...with the chocolates. Big Merci Peter.
Denise, as any true Parisien would, favors her red ribbons for wrapping her chockies.
Two little French Girls have gotten the training - the wearing of long scarves, one of them RED.
Just a few of the RED buildings I passed enroute to our lunch on the 23rd. Oh the deal is I do a painting for Peter and he buys me lunch at the place of my choice...
Dear Peter,
I think you owe me one. Can we do a spot of coffee at that posh cafe, Castiglone on rue Saint Honore with the RED awning?
Something that always catches my eye in Paris is how cleverly Parisiens cover up their construction works-in-progress. They really are the BEST at this, among many other FAB achievements.
*Note the accents of red by the way. note too the older French woman walzing by (wearing a bit of RED). Quite a few have asked to see if The older French Woman is as thin and chic as all the young ones. Yup she is.
I'll post soon, I promise.
Honestly! What is it with ALL THE RED COATS in ParisIs it really an act of insurrection as some Frenchie suggested yesterday?
Seeing RED in Paris is maybe the easiest thing to do. Ouvre ton eyes Peter.
The obligatory chic Parisien chien/doggie smartly wearing his red collar and leash.

Lastly but never least, we end with French Girl.
Does not every single Parisien have a red check torchon/dish towel hanging in their cuisine? I bet you do too Peter. By the way Peter has a RED adorable little scooter. You have truly become a Parisien. You're one of em now.
Voila!
BONJOUR JOUR DE ROUGE!
