Paris ❤️ Chocolate 🍫 Shops, Rue du Bac, 7 Arrondissement

A day late for Valentines

But flowers 💐
And Valentine 💘 chocolates 🍫

Are nice any day.

I went out Valentine hunting Chocolate shops,

On Wednesday afternoon

Window gazing in Chocolaterie CHAPON,

On #69 RUE DU BAC,

Nearby, the divine CHOCOLATIER FOUCHER,#134

Offering hearts ❤️

AND flowers 💐

Next door at #130 Rue du Bac, BOOKBINDERS DESIGN, Valentines 💘 cards.

Ooops, I missed JACQUES GENIN ❤️ at #27 rue Vaneau

I don’t know what was inside his mystery heart ♥️ in the window, but it has to be exceptional 👌

Across the street in ANGELINA a pink thread 🧵 heart ❤️

Description says: This year, Angelina celebrates love through an exclusive creation under the sign of poetry and refinement. By its symbolic form, this creation imagined by our Chef 👨‍🍳 Christophe Appert evokes the links that are gradually formed and strengthened between two beings. In terms of flavors, the sweetness is expressed around a crunchy almond and a mascarpone mousse delicately flavored with vanilla containing a delicious red fruit compote. A harmonious balance between gluttony and lightness…Bla bla bla

Grand Épicerie had raspberry jam hearts ❤️

A framboise tarte,

And pink Bellinis on ice 🧊

I went outside looking for red jelly hearts ❤️ like BOISSIER #77, Rue du Bac.
Zero, nada, rien de toute.

I had to settle for this + hot ☕️ chocolate 🍫

Want to learn about VICTORIAN 💘 VALENTINES from the London V&A?

Want to immerse yourself in the wildly romantic 1939 film of Lawrence Olivier & Merle Oberon ❤️ in WUTHERING HEIGHTS I did last night.

Or research 🔍 romantic Victorian author, EMILY BRONTË.
All respectable Valentine 💝 endeavors 👍
♥️♥️♥️
If you can’t find any red jelly hearts 💕

  3. Love your beautiful floral sketches, Carol. I love rue du Bac's shops and it has changed a bit recently, hasn't it? including no more photos at Hevin... I guess they no longer want any more of our free promotion while we pay, lol. Cheers with your lovely hot chocolate! Jillx

I don’t know Jill. I was shooting 📸 in the windows only. I will ask inside next time. 🤔 That would be a step backwards imo.

Valentine heaven on Rue du Bac. My husband and I were lucky enough to live just a block away for a time. We could barely afford a chocolate or anything else on rue du Bac, but the lèche vitrine was to die for.

Perhaps there were no red candies (jelly hearts, etc.) because Europe has forbade companies from using Red Dye #4 for health reasons. I am all for it, but I always got into the Valentine spirit with red jelly heart (mmm). Oh, well. Health is important and I do want to live longer!

Loved the chocolate tour of Paris! Our local farmers market in San Diego has wonderful homemade chocolates to sample and we love their vegan dark chocolate covered halvah! But I’m sure your hot chocolate in Paris was more heart warming.

Love looking at the beautiful chocolates while I'm stuck with a Hershey's kiss. Happy Valentine's Day to you and Bear.

  13. The raspberry tart looks delicious along with the chocolates.
I haven’t watched this adaptation of Wuthering Heights but like the book and the Brontë sisters.
Will you see the new WH movie? I’m hoping too, the comments under the trailer on YouTube are very entertaining! I agree the book is not a love story though.

No, absolutely not. I watched enough reviews to know it is not for me. Not happy with the casting, though I hear the costumes are sumptuous. I’m not a fan of the director. But it might be better for you, being Australian Kirra. I recommend watching the 1939 version first for the sake of comparison.

What a delightful post. The flowers and chocolates are beautiful. I also have a love of red jelly hearts. I appreciated the link to the documentary on Emily Bronte. I visited Haworth many years ago to see the Bronte Museum and to walk the Yorkshire moors. I have always loved Wuthering Heights and the 1939 film is wonderful. I have seen many film versions of the book including the recent one. I went in knowing it was very loosely based on the book. It is my least favorite of all the Wuthering Heights films. -Suzanne P.

Thank you Carol for the link to the walking tour of Haworth as it was interesting to hear about the history of the town. It brought back fond memories for me. -Suzanne P.
