Paris des Fleurs

Un Olivier a Paris 75017,original art, 5" x 7"
Isn't it time to think about Parisien fleurist shops?
Eglantine Fleurs Paris 75004,original art, 5" x 7"
A little breath of spring amidst all the melting snow...

Don't you just love...13, rue Vavin 75006

The way Parisien florists use an ordinary cafe chair to display their bouquets outside?

I'm just itching to get back and paint these facades...51 rue St Louis en l'Île 75004

One of my favorite florists...Au Nom du la Rose 4, rue de Tournon 75006

The first florist shop I actually went into and bought a bud - Fleurimont, 12, rue Gregoire de Tours 75006

And my namesake..so to speak...AQUARELLE fleurist rue de buci 75006

I have yet to get up the courage and go in and buy one of their fab bouquets...

At least I'll know what to wear...
I just have to rent a dog...
~
Do you have a favorite Parisien florist?

There is a great florist shop on the corner of Augereau and St. Dominique.
Two nice men are in charge of it, and they are great about giving information on all the flowers and plants.
The best part, however, is the huge bird cage in the shop, which might be worth its own watercolor.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful views of Paris.
I often forget how beautiful it all is in the day to day grind.
Your website helps me to remember.
    Sincerely,
    Laurie

  9. All those recent watercolours are so pretty. You should publish a book with them. Day after day you keep on raising your own standards.

Souvent je viens me promener et voir Paris au travers de ton regard.
Hier j'ai été super surprise, nous avons pris la même photo d'un escalier Parisien.
J'aime aussi beaucoup les étalles des fleuristes.
    A bientôt.

tonights post brought some memories back as l had a flower shop some years ago and the flowers were shown just like the pictures.
At christmas l hid a CD player behind some flower buckets and had it playing soft christmas music.
People used to be looking all over the street wondering were it came from,
    Jill xx

I love your blog, I lived in Paris for a year and miss it terribly, yours is the closest portal to the authentic France that I love and miss so much. Thank you for that.

It'd be awesome if you could give some indication of where you take some of the pictures, either address, rue, or even just arrondissement. Some of these pictures are so beautiful I'd want visit them the next time I am à Paris.

  14. Good idea ANGELA!!!
I mostly shoot on the run and have no idea where photos come from, but when I do, I'll add the address bien sur!

  15. Sometimes I think I might feel right at home,
in your Paris that is. Then again, it may sound pretensious. I dare say that there are similarities in the way Viennese flower shops display their gorgeous wares.

Right next to my tram stop, a tiny little flowershop beckons, and just yesterday I succumbed, again: I bought a beautiful saffron colored primula auricula to grace my kitchen window.

Oooh, just what the doctor ordered , a touch of spring. I think it was here once upon a time that I saw a video of the flower mart and stalls in Paris. I think I would want to wander there too.

  17. Your paintings and photos truly are a delight on a rainy and stormy day like this! I am intrigued by your LinkWithin - very sophisticated and so delightful!

(I know I have commented here before - even though with all that humidity my brain does get a bit more rusty than usual - I just needed another reminder that there may be a Spring, sometime, somewhere!)

As one of your biggest fans, I will be happy to accompany you free of charge to all fleuristes, cafes, etc. I love travel and do not get carsick. Also, I can take care of any pesky rodents. And 6 or 7 flights of stairs? Nothing!
    Yours sincerely,
    Ozzie
