I thought I was posting on the lovely, orderly way Parisian patissiers.
Line up their creations.

Like soldiers standing to attention in perfect rows.
Then I had one of those Eureka! moments. Is it possible my obsession with French pastry has everything to do with a desperate need for order and nothing to do with chocolate or whipped cream?

These perfect disks lined up with such precision.

Labeled and priced, measured centimeters apart, are the exact opposite of my chaotic studio.

I fight a losing battle with entropy daily,

Yet the vision of glossy tartes.

Is like a Zen meditation.

Do I start an ashram in Paris and spread the joie?

Should I go to pastry school?Would you like a peek at my studio 2011 to see if there's been any improvement?

 On Sunday there are lines EVERYWHERE at the marche on rue Montmartre waiting for oysters. Especially on Sundays. Ca m'énerve
Just walking down rue Montorgueil (which I finally learned to spell and pronounce) is plein du monde!

It's Sunday. At Pain De Sucre you get on line just to browse. This is a line I don't mind getting on. This is the 1st time there's not much of a line at the crêpe stand. Course I don't really want a crêpe right now...
c'est la vie. ça m'énerve Lines form along the Seine on Sunday, in the pedestrian walks. Well amost lines.Did you know scooters are still big in Paris? And not just kids. If you have a scooter, by all means take it next trip. I would, if I had one... You can take your scooter on line at Patisserie Gerard Mulot on Sundays.
 You can NOT take your scooter here. I'm just guessing.

Have you ever just walzed in and bought macarons without waiting? Ca m'nerve

Same deal at Pierre Herme. Be sure and wear your 'standing' shoes.

Paris is my Oyster

Paris is definitely my oyster... My first patisserie yesterday... First blackboard/ardoise seen...
Attached to a velo/bicycle of course. First dogs seen. Everyone in this town has at least one dog if not two.This is dog lovers heaven.
The weather was spectacularly GORGEOUS. Bien sur everyone was sitting in the cafes...

Even the chairs were stacked outside.
And velos too were taking in the sun like crazy.

My first lunch yesterday was at Eric Kayser. I got off at the wrong stop - Commerce. I got off at a lot of wrong Metro stops yesterday. I had to get out and cross the street to the other entrance so I ate lunch.

Paris lines are everywhere.

No wonder it's nothing for Parisiens to line up. They start lining up first thing in the morning.

And last thing at night.

The last thing I looked at yesterday.

I think I'm in love...

Exactly ONE week from today, next Friday, March, the 20th will be MACARON DAY! Why else would I go to Paris in the freezing cold do you think?

Since dogs RULE in Paris, if you bring along a doggie, does the dog get free macarons too?

Have you ever even seen a Parisien dog eat a macaron?
I have to admit I have not.
But dogs are SO well loved in Paris this may not be an issue!
Where do I rent-a-dog-for-a-day in Paris? Please rack your brains, faithful PB readers. You always come up with such good solutions.
Even YSL had a dear little doggie. I'm sure it is not rented...
I shall await your response and thoughtful advice with anticipation...
