Dogs in Paris

Meet New Yorker Amos, a Yorkiepoo and a working dog.
 

Amos is on vacance in Paris for a few days, but mostly you can find him monitoring dog training classes. Yes, he sits at a desk wearing a coat that says 'Principal' and makes sure the other dogs behave...ahem

His mom, Anna, formerly fulltime journalist now dog trainer was lucky Amos invited her to come to Paris.

I was a little surprised when he ordered a croquet Madame but who am I to question this brainy little critter.

Croque Madame - that's a very cheesy croque Monsieur with a fried egg on top.

Anna is one lucky duck to work for Amos at SFTD isn't she? Trips to Paris now and then make awfully nice perks I'd say...

Dans la rue Amos practices his French and makes friends in no time at all. If you're bringing your pet to Paris what about an onsite portrait?

Paris Maps!

Is there anything more fun, more enticing, or more seductive than pouring over maps of your destination, while relaxing at home? Here is my favorite and much repaired old Paris Metro map - I keep adding scotch tape over the years. I will NOT leave home without this dear friend of a map.I'm very fond of Paris plan par arrondissements. I love the spiral binding and I can actually SEE the streets without a magnifying glass.Chuck told me to buy City Walks:Paris flash cards and I promise to take a few along this trip.I love EyeWitness Paris books. I wish they were not so heavy. Especially love their floor plans and overhead views of museums are very helpful. I wish more Paris shops put maps on their business cards don't you? Do you ever get desperate for a computer? Cyber Cube is conveniently spread around Paris just in case. I like the maps on patisserie Sadaharu Aoki'scard.And cafe Le Select. Last Night Paris

Tuesday morning I had a "private" visit to Pierre Herme on 185, rue Vaugirard to take as many pictures as I wanted from both sides of the counter. YAY!

Later I decided on a late run to my photo shop in the 6th - camera problems. It was dusk in the Marais. Irresistable for marching around on foot.
I passed a Starbucks on rue des Archives and peeked in. Starbucks is hugely popular in Paris with the French to my surprise! They love the big loungie chairs and relaxed atmosphere.
The banks of Velib bikes everywhere is a delight! These stations were empty during the strike/ greve last week. Next time I'll get a Navigo card so I can use one. I'll bone up on my biking skills too before I come...ahem
I passed the glorious Hotel de Ville enroute to the left bank -always spectacular at night.

Awaits every tourist in Paris. Sometimes it's nice to be a tourist...

At St.Michel I popped into the Metro and came out at stop Vavin facing my favorite bistro - Le Select. You can't go wrong here for tons of old Parisian ambience. The food is irrelevant.

Walking around Paris at night is a delight.

The streets are not so crowded and perfect for leche-vitrine / window shopping with no chance of maxing out your credit card.

Late shoppers still max out their credit cards. Lines, lines, lines plus you feel the tension and anticipation - will there be any macarons left? Here winners of a box of macarons at nearby Cafe Le Deux Magots...
