Unboxing Kindle 3G

Much as Bear and I love opening pastry boxes.
We have a BIG problem with anything techie. Some things sit in their boxes unopened for months
When the new Kindle 3G arrived on Wednesday we looked at the box a lot...
Finally we decided a post would do the trick. We would have to open it. Ta Da
Being a tad dyslexic, instructions throw us for a loop. There's a nice video here on opening and setting up your new Kindle. We played it safe and called Amazon 866-321-8851
 Doodly-doodly-do We're uploading
How come we got the %$#Kindle unboxed and setup?
Granted we already bought the app for our iPod Touch (which is gathering dust unused in a drawer).
 HMPH
The Kindle seems a LOT EASIER :)
Should we have gotten the Kindle Fire for color?
 YUM
We'll manage. It's the useful info we want. Less visual temptations won't hurt a bit.
And we're loving the 'Daily Deals'
Bon Week-End!

Versace cats at H&M

I wasn't online at 5 AM last Saturday to catch Versace's cats at H&M I have enough cats to keep me busy at the moment. But I did pass by later on to check out the scene.
I coveted that Versace box, but you can't buy just a box malheueusement.
I looked at the leftovers.
Thanksgiving leftovers seem more appealing...ahem
A swipe of the cats paw was apparent in the Paris Metro.
And Paris vitrines/windows.
Almost all faux cat like this set at Claudie Pierlot.
Dans la rue a touch of cat at the neck.
Witty Barbara Rihl uses cat patterns as the base of her bags.
And around the neck of her figures.
While down the street on rue Cambon, her husband, Pierre Herme also has clever cats on the brain.

In Paris cat and mouse live happily together (in ballerina shoe store windows..)And on rue des Martyrs fat rats adorn fromageries like crazy.

BONJOUR CATS etc.!

I Am...Love

August will be "I Am Restraint" month regarding ice cream. Have you seen Tilda Swinton in I Am Love? Tilda is the absolute epidomy of restraint. Except when she dives into a plate of luscious shrimp and throws caution to the wind. (spoiler) Then all Hell breaks loose.
I could say the same thing happened in Maine when I dived into fried clams. And I'm someone who proudly proclaims I do not eat 'fried foods'. Oddly enough in the same movie, Tilda's gorgeous son, Flavio Parenti, shows restraint when his sister (in London) offers him a lemon macaron. He refuses. Restraint gets him nowhere in this case, but I don't want to give it all away. I have no problem showing restraint with macarons in Paris. After all they're everywhere, even if some flavors are seasonal. I have an impulsive nature. I like to dive in to a painting headfirst and anything. I look for the waterwings later. This is not a good idea (re:lessons learned in Maine), so I'm showing you thumbnails first.

Your Macaron Opinion Requested...

Your astute opinion is requested.
Please tell me why you love Paris macarons. Are you over-the-top nuts about them the way I am? Will you only buy macarons at one particular place or do you try them from every patisserie you encounter walking around Paris?
Have you tried to make them at home?
Do you search for them on your home turf, hoping and praying 🙏 you'll find something close to a Parisien macaron?
Do you like the big individual macarons?
Or the tiny jewel-like macs..?
Will you try any flavor/parfum? Do you always buy the same flavors over and over? I ❤️ - citron, caramel and passion fruit, but I've bought a box of just one flavor. The brilliant colors are too tempting...
A favorite macaron place or story?
Do you collect the macaron boxes and find other uses for them?
Have you ever picked a pastry box out of the trash in Paris?...I have on a number of occasions. It's all for research 🔬 purposes and future still lifes. They're too pretty to throw away in my opinion.
One step out the door, do you immediately check your bag?
Just making sure everything is there, so no disappointments later bien sur.
Have you ever sneaked a bite inside the shop or just outside? A pêche mignon.
I'm working on a macaron project - still in the research stages...
And I would love to know what you think about Paris macarons...
Do macarons say Paris to you?
Macaron letters on Etsy just out of the oven.
Your opinions and thoughts appreciated.
BONJOUR PARIS MACARONS!
