Arrived in Paris yesterday

Think Pink, a new Audrey Letter

On Friday I went into BHV depart. store for ribbons and perfume cards. I was confronted with a ton of pink. 

Even Mariage Frères has gone pink with their packaging and teapots!

Passing through the women’s clothing floor…more pink for Fall! What’s going on? 

Naturally I don't own anything in pink but I better get on it.

Givenchy has a special collection of mood perfumes & they are all pink. Titles: trouble-Fête · Sans Artifice · Peur de Rien · Oiseau Rare · Indompté · Sans Merci · Garçon Manqué. 

Pink is no longer just for little girls. 

Guys are wearing plenty of pink.

In the metro station - pink ads. 

I was on my way to the art store. I bought some Opera pink of course.

Not just Funny Face is mad for pink. Why pink? Pink is a calming color associated with love, kindness, and femininity. People immediately associate the color with all things feminine and girly. Some shades of pale pink are described as relaxing, while very bright, vibrant shades can be stimulating or even aggravating.

Audrey Hepburn said she ‘believed in pink’. I think she was on to something. 

I got inspired to paint a new pink Audrey single letter, 

Dolce & Gabbana just showed this OTT pink gown in Venice. I’m going to order shortly

Champagne rue Bonaparte

Did you know patisserie Laduree has their own Champagne and the bottles are really pretty on 21, rue Bonaparte?

I bought this rose-framboise religieuse to paint in front of their bottle (I stole a few shots). I ate it but the painting looked Hellish. See below.

Art book publisher ASSOULINE has a terrific shop at No. 35 great for a stop on.

BOUTIQUE FABRICE has been on rue Bonaparte for as long as i've been coming to Paris at No. 33

Here's a newish shop to discover at 21. LITTLE GREEN, a bespoke paint and paper decoration shop from Manchester, England

They have stunning catalogs and color charts to take away. They mix up your paint to order on the stop.

Now is the time for pretty bottles of Rosé...in a small epicerie on Bonaparte. Why not start at the Seine and wander up the rue?

Today I'm wandering off to Reims. Its been a year or two and all this bubbly immersion has made me curious to go see some more bottle green since I've been painting Champagne over and over. Thank you for reading Parisbreakfast. Paris Pink

Sunday was the perfect day to ride your pink scooter and wear PINK.

Or sit on the curb and eat Berthillon strawberry/fraise ice cream 🍦 

Big clunky pink baskets/running shoes are not only OK to wear in Paris, they're de rigueur. 

I'll take these Robert Clergerie pink flats for 370€.

 Aimée Leduc gave me a private mystery tour of Ile Saint-Louis on Saturday.

A door opened and we quickly snuck into a private courtyard full of pink hydrangeas(?). More to come on our jaunt.
