Red Shoes

Red shoes. What's not to love?
These are my Repetto red shoes (with sequins not dots Amy). I 'won' them (110€ instead of 180€) in Galeries Lafayette lower shoe department the same day I won a full box of Pierre Herme macarons!
TOP O' THE WORLD!

Red shoes in Paris attract me like a magnet.

I have way too many pictures of them.

 Especially ballerinas.

Red does add spice to life.

 It's an upper for sure.

Like the red raspberry on Jean-Paul Hevin's chocolat framboise.

A touch of red goes a long way. I've no idea what these mini bebe bottles are for by SOUTH PIGALLE. Do you?

 Love this red lunette sign.

And the red napkin when M. made me lunch. Note the red radis, red beets, red table cloth. Who doesn't love red?

A wolf clasps a red heart in Le Loup Qui Cherchait Une Amoureuse. Wolves can be sweet...Who knew?

Can one wear too much red? In Paris, evidently not.

If you decide to buy some red Repettos, for Gawd's sake get the signature shopping bag. I got yelled at by French Girl,
'What? You bought the shoes and left the bag?
There are so many uses for such a bag!

Do we love red shoes because we wore Mary Janes as a kid?

  1. My parents made me wear Buster Browns.... No low-support Mary ks for me. But my heart belonged to penny loafers!

  3. I adore red shoes too! Love your new Repettos, you really did "win" them at that price. Funny, I posted a closet full of red shoes on my Pinterest "favorite things" board a while back. Also, the eyeglass sign is great!!!!

  8. Red is a typical Parisian fashion colour, there it is not possible to wear too much red. How come you win a box of Pierre Hermé macarons, yum.

    1. That's one TALL order Nikon.
The cut marks go vertically up the side like height chart on the wall.

Oh I love coincidences & finding many lately;just got in from my local TJ Maxx where I snagged the only pair of cute red leather sandals - made in Italia. So, I'm sitting at my desk trying them on again, et voila...you are waxing romantic about red shoes! Your shoes, and your painting are bellissimo BTW!

  11. Beware the nice wolf.
That disguise can change on a dime once little Red Riding Hood is within reach!
N.C. Wyeth and his early Illustrator chums used red a lot in their paintings, as a focal point. Love the richness you captured in the Chocolate cake watercolor.
    Yummmmm...

  12. Carol, I also love red shoes, and right now find myself without any red ballerinas. Must remedy this situation very soon!

Meanwhile, I will have to go on with the funny, childlike red flat-soled sandals I bought a year or so ago.

    xo to you and Bear.
