Art Déco 🐟 Aquarium Tropical, Palais de la Porte Dorée

I went out looking for Art Déco architecture on Tuesday

And came home obsessed with fish 🐟 

It’s been 10 years since 

I visited 

The Palais de la Porte Dorrée, 

Classic Art Déco building, built in 1931 by architect Albert Laprade.

Located at 293 Avenue Daumesnil, 75012 (Metro 8) in a part of Paris I don’t often visit.

Here’s a tip👍 If you are going to residential areas, ask Google for the nearest Patisserie 🥐 

Vandermerrsch is top drawer and nearby at 278 Ave. Daumesnil.

They carry  Christine Ferbier confiture 

I got a mini kouglof and later came back for more. 

The galette des 👑 rois is famous 👌

Back to fish 🐟 

The Aquarium is in the basement 

With more than 500 animal species 

Living in more than 

85 different 

Environments.

I’m sure the last thing

On your Paris to-do list 

Is a visit to an aquarium?!

It wouldn’t make your list, but

It is a magical experience in a beautiful building.

I want to say it’s a grounding experience…or sea 🌊 level experience? 

It makes you stop and think about this vast ecosystem we are so dependent on, yet give little thought to…except for 🦞 🦀 🦪

Mid-February 2 Mississippi sisters 🐊🐊 (alligators) are joining the gang.
