New York Dolls!

New York Dolls are everywhere...
Particularly on subway walls...
And they are wearing RED lipstick...
Do New York girls love to doll up?
You bet!
Gimme some glitz Puleese!
Makeup?
Paint please SVP!
Hair?
Like their Paris and London sisters, New York dolls...
Are into lots of...
HAIR!
What do New York dolls eat?
Macarons!
with the occasional ballpark hotdog bought on any NYC street corner...ahem
Does the New York working doll...
Still wear hats and gloves?
This one does...
But nope, most do NOT!
Like their Paris sisters, they are tres decontracte/casual...
Can YOU be a New York Doll?
Surement oui!
Just show up like these cuties from Korea outside the Met museum, wear black, carry a camera, a big bag, big glasses, long hair etc.
And where can you find these stunning New York dolls?
Up on Bergdorf Goodman's 7th floor that's where.
They're from Primitive Twig and handmade by Marcia and Bill Fink.
BONJOUR NEW YORK DOLLS!!

  9. I love the posters - the girls with the big red lips.
The vintage posters are great, too.
NYC has a lot to offer if you can't get to Paris :)

  12. I love all of your pictures. My daughter is a NYC doll and is even known to wear gloves on occasion. I just posted the other day about the Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington dolls. Did you see them at Barney's?

And greetings from a fellow BYW classmate.

  16. What if instead of being like a French girl or an American girl we each start our own styles - just a thought!

  17. Silly Girl,
you do have a good point...
Heavens knows why we all wannabe like this or that.
    It's a cultural thing I suppose.
Thank Goodness I have no desire to wannabe like Lady GaGa.

  20. Is that cake just for display or to eat? It looks so beautiful! Sorry. You gals can have the lipstick. I just want the food. :O)

  22. There was a wonderful outdoor craft show behind the Museum of Natural History about 6 months ago and Primitive Twig was there with a simply gorgeous display of all things eclectic. I know that show will be back in October - but I'm not sure exactly when - and I hope PT is there again.
    They do beautiful work!
