Did you know that the 'Ispahan' rose, also known as 'Rose d'Isfahan' and 'Pompon des Princes' is one of the finest Damask roses?It's also one of the most beautiful and fragrant of all roses. And if that wasn't enough, it's very hardy and tolerates poorer soils
Did I mention that Herme's Ispahan is made of:
Biscuit macaron a la rose,
Creme aux petales de rose,
framboises entiere
letchis
Next trip to Paris, in October, I'm going early,
very early to Herme's shop. Not on any Mondays either

Someone who works at Pierre Herme-Paris bought 6 of my watercolors recently.I hope PH gets a chance to see them sometime.

  8. Whenever I visit I see things I never even knew existed--these lovely desserts and amazing colors and these incredibly rich, almost decadent colors. Your watercolor captures the beauty, elegance and sophistication of these treats. I wouldn't be surprised if the buyer of your watercolors framed them and hung them at Hermes. Thanks for starting my day so glowingly.

  12. The Ispahan is SUCH a beautiful creation, and your painting does justice to it! Which is amazing. I would have thought it would be very hard to paint.

    Maybe when Pierre Hermé's people buy your watercolors, you should include a request for some kind of chocolate shipment as part of the payment? :)

    I'm SURE he has seen them and loved them.

    I think I could love these Ispahans more than macarons. I am using a paint by Designers Guild which is just that colour. If I get a biscuit and paint it would it do for an Ispahan?

  17. All this red is so incredibly delish & sensual. Your paintings are so beautiful, and the photographs make me wish I wasn't currently on the other side of the world.

    It's about time I save up enough for a 2-week trip to Paris. I'd need to save up a lot, looking at all those dessert and pastries! :D

    I am simply an eye that records.
    The mouth is locked closed tight.
    I threw away the key long ago.
    Whatever gave you the idea I eat what I paint?
    Well maybe the occasional teeny, weeny little macaron now and then...especially if it's caramel au beurre...
    I'm here for the aesthetics solely.
