I crept off early to go to Boston this morning, so no words. But does Paris need words?

Paris at Night...

Last night...(well a couple of months ago...) Was my LAST NIGHT... IN PARIS! So when friends called and invited me over for a Pierre Herme macaron, you know I got out of my jamies and ran out the door... Across the Pont de L'Alma...

With a last look at the Bateaux Mouches (I never got to take...ahem)

Of course I got lost trying to find the #72 bus (since I didn't follow directions...ahem) But in the pursuit of macarons you can always find your way in Paris.

Later at midnight, waiting again for the #72 bus to head home (to pack...ahem)

Don't you know the Eiffel Tower lite up...

PARIS NIGHT WALKS!

Another Paris night walk since you enjoyed yesterdays post so much adn I am still busy now with the Jack Russells... There's nothing like strolling around Paris at night... You have all the windows to yourself... And you can redecorate entirely to your heart's content - like this inviting chair in a rare bookshop window.. Oh those trecherous, unending circular staircases in Paris! I'll take a mini model instead S.V.P. Bouquets of everlasting coral - perfection! Parisien children's shops at night are full of stories - a sad child neglected by teddy parents...dommage A little snack for your night time journey..? A few cerises peut-etre? Crunch...crunch At last! Bisquits...quelle dommage - made of porcelaine=no calories! My walk from the Right bank over to the Left bank. Que Voltaire is particularly good for enticing antique boutiques for the vicarious shopper.

Paris at Night

Tuesday morning I had a "private" visit to Pierre Herme on 185, rue Vaugirard to take as many pictures as I wanted from both sides of the counter.

Later I decided on a late run to my photo shop in the 6th - camera problems. It was dusk in the Marais. Irresistable for marching around. I passed a Starbucks on rue des Archives and peeked in. It's hugely popular in Paris with the French to my surprise. They love the big loungie chairs and relaxed atmosphere. The banks of Velib bikes everywhere is a delight! These stations were empty during the strike/ greve last week. Next time I'll get a Navigo card so I can use one. I'll bone up on my biking skills too before I come again... I passed the glorious Hotel de Ville enroute to the left bank -always spectacular at night. Cross the Petit Pont... To where Notre Dame awaits... Awaits every tourist in Paris. Sometimes it's nice to be a tourist...A small art galerie on rue de Petit Pont with large, mysterious Medieval style paintings...A shop window nearby with tiny, adorable Limoge snuff boxes... At St.Michel I popped into the Metro and came out at stop Vavin facing my favorite bistro - Le Select. You can't go wrong here for tons of Parisian ambience-the food is irrelevant.

Another night I took this shot of the L'Opera Garnier. No flash required. Walking around Paris at night is one of my favorite things.

The streets are not so crowded and perfect for leche-vitrine / window shopping with no chance of maxing out your credit card.

Late shoppers can still max out their credid cards. Lines, lines, lines, plus you feel the tension and anticipation - will there be any macarons left? Enjoying their booty at nearby Cafe Le Deux Magots...

 The pretty "boutique" hotel Caron de Beaumarchaise spotted another night in the Marais.

I hope you enjoyed all my Paris "bla bla bla" I shoot and run. And I forget ALL names and addresses instantly. I'm not a personal shopper nor a tourist guide. I'm just an artist who loves to look.

I couldn't leave you without some Paris macarons.
