Rue Bonaparte

Boxes with Cerises, original watercolor, 9" x 11"

Holiday over.Back to work.UGH Don't we all need a brief respite like a little cup of tea at an imaginary tea salon?

YUM A nice glass of champers would definitely blot out reality.

And just a tiny snack to go a petit four or two...

Religieuse Chocolat?

Or a Saint-Honore Rose-Framboise?

Oh Guimauve (Frenchie marshmallows) and pink.
Now where do we sit?
You pour please...
Shall we take a snack home?
Oh, Little Bear is soooooo slow. It takes him forever to eat one silly macaron! Can't take him anywhere
BONJOUR PARIS

  3. Anne,
this is a purely imaginary Laduree I've dreamed up here...
The real one, well the service could be alot better and they always seem to be out of what you want..Plus you have to wait way too long :(
    A shame really...

  4. WOW CAROL!
Love todays painting...even more than I usually do!
Those cherry stems; moving me around the painting like a watercolor whirl-a-gig!
Lush washes, too. But then...they always are!

  6. You've conjured up a lovely place here for us today, that's for sure. I love those raspberry thingamajigs--I'll take one of those. And petits fours--those are the biggest I've ever seen! Yum. Your painting here is one of my favorites--such delicate washes and that cup stands out with its lovely pattern.

This painting's a beauty, Carol--wonderful washes, and with all the simplicity and then the flowering mug that bursts forth, oolala...

You continue to tell a story (but not about the woman without head, OUF thank you!:))
How to forget this very long and bad Laduree "service" !!!
Many boutiques have changed in 6e, each month a new wear shop or bizare cooked meals...
But not a real shop with real basic food ! or good food ...
The prices are going up up away... And the frensh people realize the States is not rich and the life will be less easy...
Maybe just for a few months or years ?
How do you see that from NYC?
    A+C++++++++++

Being an Ozzi franchaphone, its only fitting I start here :) Your paintings are gorgeous...I have been thinking of starting art classes as a hobby..you're inspiring me! My daughter and I are heading back to Paris in OCT..Never been to a Laduree, will have to test it out, just for the experience. Thanks again

NOW I know why today was soooo tiring. I went about it all wrong: Got up early and race-walked Ozzie throuh the park. Rushed off to the office to trudge through a few million emails (took off an extra day for a nice 4 day weekend!) ran to meetings, talked on the phone, and the closest I came to a Laduree treat was the 2 tootsie roll minis I grabbed from the candy dish at the reception desk. Thank you for the enlightenment. I shall mend my ways..well, not tomorrow; I have an earlly meeting in a town a half hour from here, but surely Wednesday! Oh, no! 7 AM meeting! Sacre bleu! Don't these people realize I am trying to lead the beautiful life?

  19. Oh my heart be still! I'm off to Paris for 6 days in Aug. and I come by for a sneak peek at the tastes I shall surely experience! Delicous!
Good thing I am losing 10 lbs. as I know it will come back once I taste all these treats!

  20. I do hope you took Little Bear to Laudree Bonaparte and I a thrilled to see he is back out of the cupboard.
Don't you just love those little frames Laduree use for price tags?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yes I do love those little golden frames Laduree has sprinkled all over the place and I have to tell my hands,
    "Be Still!
Back in pockets or hold that camera!
You must not got to Laduree prison!!!
Then again..what could be nicer than to munch on Laduree macarons all day long...macs and water. What was I thinking?
Of course I'd love to go to Laduree prison!
    Bien sur!
I am sure I would be in good company too."
    Great suggestion Di!!!

in case you want to be bailed out!
I shall come with a Demeltorte,
    to distract your wardens. ;-)

    P.S.:
A nice glass of champer, merci,
wonderful! *smile* Oh, I feel a bit dizzy now. Where's the Récamier, s.v.p.?
