Well, the Salon du Chocolat was fun π«
My food buddy, Solli, shooting the ever-present towers of power. Solli refused nothing by the way, but summed up that we definitely ate less π« then usual π€
These beautiful hunks of pΓ’tΓ© de fruit are the size of a handbag π Somehow they taste better than the actual fruits! π
The Saudis were the featured guest this year, with a big stand at the left entrance offering the most divine dates dipped in various chocolates (milk or dark) with various toppings (sesame and almonds was recommended).
This gentleman was offering tastes of his health-promoting pomegranate syrups, vinegars, elixirs, all organic.
It’s not just chocolate π« at the salon.
We loved the non-alcoholic, sugar-free drinks that are popular this year at all the food shows. How do they dream up these flavors? ‘French Cancan’ a combo of raspberry, violet and geranium. ‘French Kiss’ verjus, basil and sweet mint.
Plus the wheel of hazelnuts/noisette will do as well. Piedmontese are at the salon again with their super hazelnuts. I bought a bag last year and the price is the same.
A sneak-peek exhibit of Xmas buche de NoΓ«l π
It’s never too soon to be thinking about Christmas dinner dessert.
I loved ❤️ the witty fireplace with buche logs πͺ΅ A stocking 𧦠appears to be missing…someone snacked? Or are they going for an asymmetrical look π€
The Chocolate Salon continues through Sunday 3 November at Porte de Versailles (in Paris). I will go back to see the first floor, like I did last year.
Definitely replacing my chocolate Easter bunny with a chocolate camel! It will last all year!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good idea π then you can finally eat the bunny π°
Delete"pΓ’te de fruits the size of a handbag" - loved all of your descriptions, Carol. Glad you and Solli had a super time last night. Looked super, including the camel!
ReplyDeleteThose dates! You would have loved them Jill π
DeleteLooks like so much fun! I’d be the squirrel next to the fruit pΓ’tΓ© hoarding all the chocolates!π¨π¦ π
ReplyDeleteI did hoard some chocolates π« to give to my guy at the copy shop (see 1st photo) and now I feel like eating them up π
DeleteI'm drooling!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful photos and now I am craving dark chocolate. Ha. Everything looks delicious and I love the large carvings in chocolate. Such fun! -Suzanne P.
ReplyDeleteI'd love those large fruit pates - I'm still eating those I brought home with me- and that Christmas tree. Not sure I'd be able to contain myself if I were there. My feet would give out long before my stomach.
ReplyDeleteMy feet did give out but,
