Thursday night was the inauguration of Salon du Chocolat at convention center Porte de Versailles in the 15th arron. A Chocolate lovers π« must-visit.
Globes π are in. These from Carre Chocolat- Saint Malo.
Francois Pralus is king with his beautiful multi-colored stripped bags. There is a sturdier non-paper version this year for everyday use I could not resist.
After all chocolate is the perfect medium for creating beautiful sculptures.
Remember the Ourson Guimauve map?
This year was happily much bigger than last year’s post-Covid show. It’s a good idea to study the floorplan closely.
There is a another floor of world-wide guest trade producers I’ll go back to see - a great way to learn more about chocolate.
I went mad for this melty, creamy chocolate grandija from Alsatian Jacques Bockel.
And more new box designs from Hugo & Victor, specially priced for the Salon (10€).
Thinking extra BIG Maison Vincent Guerlais has giant-sized chocolate Petite Beurre of Nantes bigger than a dinner mat.
Guerlais had an entire library of beautifully designed chocolate tablets/bars anyone would love to own.
Another wall of chocolate bars from witty Chocolat Francaise
For the following morning - MOF Laurent Duchenne’s delicious chocolate-laminated croissant π₯
I did not leave until closing time. Have you reached the saturation point? Want more chocolate news?
Should I go back? The Salon is on for 5 days through Tuesday, 1 November. If you’re in Paris the π« Salon is a don’t-miss event. Everyday is full of demonstrations, book signings, endless tastings. Thanks for reading Parisbreakfast. Please share with friends. Visit my Etsy shop to keep me &π»in Paris, eating chocolates π« for you ❤️π«π·π
So fun to see! I’ll have to get one of the Pralus striped bags! CS
ReplyDeleteI was poking in my pantry and found an unopened chocolate bar. If only it was healthier Pics are so yummy looking anabel
ReplyDeleteHahahaha
DeleteDark chocolate is full of phenelanolines!π
I made that upπ
Quality dark chocolate is rich in fiber, iron, magnesium, copper, manganese, and a few other minerals.Jul 13, 2022
DeleteI think I am getting hyper after looking at all of that chocolate! It all looks so delicious . I would buy that cool Pralus striped bag!πΌ❤️π«π
ReplyDeleteGood choice Ga π
DeleteI can smell the chocolate from here! I went one year, and love reading about it from you! Chocolate overload like nowhere else. Do you eat all of it?
ReplyDeleteNo I didn’t eat that much Jeannie. When we gave a box of Foucher chocolates to Christine Ferber at dinner, she immediately opened the box and ran it several times under her nose. Just inhaling. No tasting. Now I follow her example and inhale only. It changes the experience, like sniffing wine
DeleteI am certain a very le fun outing;)
ReplyDeleteYes! You should go back…bring your suitcase…move in! How can you stay away?! Love the Pralus bags. I would fill them up with their Infernal Pistachio or Nougat Bars! ❤️π«
ReplyDeleteWhat a charmed life you lead, Carol, and it doesn’t get better than the Salon du Chocolat. Enjoy!
What infernal pistache nougat bars?! Now I HAVE to go back π³
DeleteAny excuse to go back, right?? π Infernale Pistache and Infernale Nougat, just two of their line of seven (?) Infernale chocolat bars. Best chocolat bars ever!! ❤️
DeleteThe Mermaid is stunning! what artistry. Carol have you really been in Paris since 2006? I saw your library of posts. . Your portrait of my great grandson was as a baby and he is now 10. It makes me realize time is flying by.
ReplyDeleteNo way Maureen! I have been visiting since 2006 and before, but living here since Dec 26, 2012. Hard to believe a decade has passed. What an adventure!
DeleteMerci, merci!! Your photos are delicious! I so love receiving your news from Beautiful Paris. The evening you came to "my" apartment in the Marais is a special memory for me. I appreciate how you seek out interesting experiences and share them so artfully. I promise to do a Facebook post about you and your Etsy shop. I don't have a very big following, but you never know who might click the links and find themselves shopping! Hop you are well... xxoo Barbara H.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, that’s very kind ❤️ I loved that evening too in your divine apartment and meeting your fun friends. I am still combing Paris for your parchment, crackly crackers. I hope you return soon and reveal your secret source π
DeleteSometimes I wish I liked chocolate better!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha You have a big problem Jeanie. I feel for you. Course I dont drink and feel like I’m missing out too π³π₯π·πΎ
DeleteI look forward to this event every year and love that you always take us along. Yes, more chocolate please. Love the Pralus bag but love their Praluline even more.
ReplyDeleteYou know I didnt see their Praluline this year. They have new coffee flavored candy(with NO chocolate in it) that I don’t get. And they had the big Christmas gift stand…so maybe no Praluline π
DeleteYour Salon du Chocolat post is fabulous…a much needed spirit lifter. Love the photo of the fellow in the Metro - terrific!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you noticed. It was one of those Cartier-Bresson ‘decisive moments’. In no time the platform was crowded and the moment was gone.
DeleteI was also drawn to the photo of the young man in the Metro - he was so deep in thought.
DeleteThis Salon is irresistible. A definite must visit. Eat some chocolat for me. You can start with that block of gianduja…or maybe the choc laminated croissants…or those Nantais cookies…or…tout le chocolat! Jackie
ReplyDeleteAll that 'yummy' chocolate! I have a little sign that says, 'I'd give up chocolate but I'm not a quitter.' Eat a piece for me (ha, ha). Desiree
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your Salon du Chocolat excursions. Those chocolates from Carre Chocolat Saint Malo are like polished stones, gorgeous. I'd adore one of the Guillaume Bichet boxes, looks very Chanel-esque!
ReplyDeleteYou have good taste C+Y. Globes are so in. I saw a box of all blue globes! I was very tempted by Bichet boxes..
DeleteActually they are called, dΓ΄mes not globes π
DeleteI think I’m more sad than you that the Salon is over. I’ll have to assiduously study your choco pics ❤️ Egads, why oh why have I never been to the Salon?!
