Fall Leché-Vitrine

Do you like to leché-vitrines/windowshop when in Paris? Last night I went to see some Fall windows.
Is Printemps still in love with Squid Green or maybe that’s their brand color?

The weather has turned chilly (mid-40s to 70s) Turtlenecks and blue quilted jackets are out. Halter dresses and sandals put away.

Is the Summer ‘bra worn on the outside’ trend going to continue into winter? No comment...

Chanel is showing flower prints for Fall and quilted leather jeans. Hmmm…

If these footwear predictions are correct, we’re in
trouble. I used to design shoes.

A true sign the season has changed. The roasted chestnut guys are out.

Galeries Lafayette is pushing wellness wear

And outdoor sportswear…a tad more realistic choices. What do you think?

French girls in the street wearing mini skirts, pale pink and leather boots…

Checking out Fall dessert trends is a must-do and chocolate 🍫 always rules in Autumn.

The best, easiest place to do research is Galeries Lafayette le Gourmet

With so many top pastry chefs onboard like Jean-Paul Hévin, Ducasse, Hermé, Dalloyau, Conticini, Yann Couvreur, Pierre Marcolini etc.

Plus they have constantly changing guest pastry shops—right now it’s Babka Zana. And yes I got one of these cinnamon rolls, planning to have it for breakfast. Ha.

The giant-size ourson guimauve/ marshmallow chocolate-covered bears is still IN in case you were wondering.

I did a Paris map on chocolate marshmallow bears…

FYI Parisians are nuts about brownies. In my opinion the best brownies in Paris lurk in the back pastry counter at Berthillon. Shhh

Hot chocolate/chocolat chaud at Galeries Lafayette is a sure sign of colder weather.
Would you believe I have a cup ☕️ of hot chocolate every single morning winter or summer. It’s my go-to ‘coffee’. Anyone else addicted to hot chockie?
I did a Paris hot chocolate map too.

It’s OK to ride your scooter inside Galeries Lafayette le Gourmet and any other Paris department store. Why am I amazed? Would you like to see more windows? Pastries? Do tell in the comments svp.

  5. Dare I say that the au courant fashion is definitely not me? The bakeries, though -- that could be real trouble!

Oooh…I love when you go window-licking, Carol. It’s so interesting to see what the department stores are promoting. Even if, in my wildest dreams, I’ll never be able to indulge in quilted leather pants, or transparent vinyl spike heeled boots! It’s fun to fantasize!

I’m much more likely to indulge in any one of those chocolate desserts. Please let us know more about that giant ourson guimauve…when he finally meets his demise. 😉

I saw another versionof the same today at your favorite, Christolph Michelak, but I had sticker price resistance. It’s no longer fun when you can buy a sandwich or more for the same price. Anyway it was family-size in my opinion. Carolg

All I have to do is look at a photo of Christophe Michalak and I gladly pay his prices! Besides his pastries are SO worth it! ❤️

Your hot chocolate and chocolate bear maps would make a great framed set. Delightful! I’m off to Etsy! ❤️

I love the combination of fashion -- worn by impossibly slender people! -- and chocolate! Such a contradiction... and very fun. Keep them both coming, please.

The chocolate top with the bubble sleeves is interesting. But nix on the outside bra even if it is brocade. What next? Panties worn over your quilted Chanel jeans?

I think Chanel is trying to drum up young customers who rely on street fashion looks as times change but the basic core items are constantly present in the collections. Love the purses!!! Can't afford them!!! Love the pastries..those I can..

  16. Food and fashion are always a good combination, especially if chocolate is involved. I too would enjoy seeing les fleuristes as the season changes.

Yes - well I call it Moka. Teaspn of instant coffee, heaping teaspoon of cocoa, 3 teaspoons of freetrade chocolate drink, big dash of Ceylon cinnamon, a good slog of cream. Mix well. Let it sit. Add equal amount of hot water. Makes about 1/2 a cup Carolg
