Stepping into a wild jungle π΄
At Grandes Serres - Jardin des Plantes
As soon as I entered I was reminded of Matisse’s vibrant palms π΄
I also love their menagerie.
The toucan will guide you to all the fun facts on Palm Trees π΄
Toucans eat the fruit of palm trees.
I get invited to these previews because
Did you know painter Henri Rousseau painted jungles without ever leaving home π‘
I am mostly painting
What do you think?
Funny thing is…when I went to eat my Asian noodle soup π₯£ I discovered I had no more wooden chopsticks to eat it with.

I went yesterday to a very crowded, but wonderful new exhibit, GUSTAVE FEYET at Fondation Louis Vuitton.
Report coming soon.

I added more color to MarchΓ© des Enfants Rouge to make it more fun π

Such a cool invitation! Congratulations, and thank you as always. Margie
ReplyDeleteIndeed Margie, please visit next visit. Their cherry blossoms are spectacular !
Deletewe love it there... have been often and last time was the orchid show.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to hear this ☺️
DeleteI worry that visitors miss out on this rich combination of gardens, menagerie and museums.
I've been to Munich's greenhouses, which includes a palm tree house, but not this one in Paris. Putting it on my to-do list now :-).
ReplyDeleteYay! Just be sure you can shed your clothing. It is tropical temperatures in there π΄
DeleteBe safe!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea, for a day of escapism! Don’t miss the Dodo MΓ¨nage, the carousel of extinct and endangered animals. Amazing collection of brushes Carol!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU! I have noticed it without seeing π️ it.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely getaway from the state of the world. And especially what is going on in Paris and throughout France. Thank you for this.
ReplyDeleteYes, immersion in green π΄π΄π΄ good for the soul ❤️
DeleteYup, my new drawing ✍️ tool!
ReplyDeleteI love palm trees. All the varieties.
ReplyDeleteAnd how they define long ago landscapes.
Thank you! AWA Catering
Thanks Annie
DeleteI love palm trees too. So romantic and majestic.
They are mostly hurricane-proof.
They bend but do not break in high winds.
I loved the Jardin des Plantes but wasn't there during a special exhibit. I watched Heather's video yesterday and found it very interesting.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to Heather Stimmler Hall’s video. I increased the speed 1 1/2 times and went careening through the streets of Paris with her…like Mister Toad’s Wild Ride! The international press loves to magnify anything negative coming out of France. Not to minimize the very real problems that France faces, like many western countries.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE ❤️ THAT!

Only you, a TOUR DE FRANCE bike watcher would do that!
Her video is Very slow. I raced ahead.

DeleteI wish they had piped in tropical bird π¦ song π΅ but I guess that would not be authentic.. π
My wife and I visited the Jardin in July to see the Natural History Museum which was stunning. If you have not been there, it is really worth a visit.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Its a long time since I visited The Bear π» exhibit there.
DeleteThanks for the Secrets of Paris video. Great view of Paris by a resident on an eBike, with commentary. Seems she had her son riding along with her. Now I know what riding on an eBike is like. She’s brave in that traffic, and knows the city inside out
ReplyDeleteVery brave π²
DeleteI loved your latest sketches from the JardΓn des Plantes.
ReplyDeleteDuring my last trip to Paris I found myself by the river side of the JardΓn as we disembarked from the river taxi and walked towards the center of town.
It is so fascinating to discover new ways of arriving at favorite and new places waiting to be explored by changing the routes one takes. SS
