Fete de la Coquille Saint-Jacques à Montmartre, Les Thermalies Salon du Bien-Être

Yesterday was another excursion into the deep 🌊

Sort of…

Always held at Abbésses in Montmartre, home to Amélie.

I made the fatal error of arriving late 🕑 on a brilliantly sunny 🌞 day.

It was mobbed

The line for oysters 🦪 was ENDLESS! 😖 No way was I waiting 😬

Instead I got a bowl 🥣 of soup de poisson. No line.

This is the annual January Brittany fête, so plenty crêpes 🥞

Beaucoup saucissons!

And authentic warm Kouign Amann.

Champagne 🥂🍾 was flowing. Perfect with the oysters 🦪 😭

I told myself I would return Sunday for oysters 🦪 and settled for a box of scallops.

Then hopped on the Metro for the annual spa show at Carrousel de Louvre.

This fair was crowded too.

Very crowded!

You would think they were giving away stuff…

And they were👍 30-35%-off deals on spa vacations.
The French Govt. contributes.

It’s a chance to de-tox after holiday 🍾 excesses (see above) of Christmas, New Years 🥂 and January Galette 🥮 des rois👑

I was fascinated by the ‘clam shell’ contraptions.
People lined up to get ‘vibrated’ or whatever they do to heal all ailments.

I was not eager to try them out…🫣

As well as spas from France, Italy, Tunisia, Morocco you can buy many healing products.

Get you feet 🦶 massaged.

Find the correct back pillow.

There is something

For everyone

Here.

I was flirting with these spa terrycloth slippers…

But they cost 1435€ including a 4-day stay in Italia 🇮🇹 so I settled for spa ball-point pen 🖊️
C’est la vie…
❤️

Fabulous Saturday in Paris, Carol! You are always such a busy girl. How do you fit it all in?! We went to the Coquille Fete a few years back, at your suggestion, and it was great! I remember those warm kouign amann fondly, the St Jacques, and the soup! Thanks for taking us along. ❤️

I am exhausted just what you did in such a short period of time. I think I would've stopped at the pastries and just let the day move on and then get back on the train and go home. Lynne

At the Fete everyone is eating to excess
At the Spa show everyone wants to repent their excesses with divine deprivation via mud baths, massage and diet.

Whatever is your PROBLEM with being vibrated? Lovely post full of possibilities.

Those clamshells look claustrophobic to me.
But true, I never have been VIBRATED. Have you? Do tell all.

I went to a French spa eons ago for a week and LOVED ❤️ it.
The mud baths, massages, even getting hosed down was very relaxing at Eugenie Les Bains. Excellent cuisine too 👌

    Cordialement, Coco
