Cherry cheesecake inspired by Wayne Thiebaud |
Then SOLLI called and said, “I just made a cherry ๐ cheesecake for a video in the studio. Want some?”
Eclairs made out of cake dough not chou pastry ๐
It’s true their Ritz bear is very nice
I was supposed to go to Rick Owens preview at Palais Galliera but it was too damn hot ๐ฅต
Cherry ๐ cheesecake red in the street.
The cheesecake is made with Mascarpone and white chocolate. The crumble crust is Normandy Sarrasin (buckwheat) cookies instead of the usual sablรฉ = less sugary, more nutty flavor + 7.8 grams of protein (!) if you eat the whole box ๐
Yum
๐ Thank You SOLLI ❤️
Xin chร o Vietnam!
Which Summer dessert would you choose?
Then the skies turned dark and Paris was deluged with a huge downpour. I sat in the subway station till it subsided.
So happy ypu came over yesterday, ๐ฅฐ what a beautiful painting of the cheesecake!! Love it, thanks ❤️
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day, thanks for taking us with you! We didn’t notice the heat at all! The cheesecake looks amazing, but that plate is the real stunner!!! Perhaps Solli could share the designer? ๐from๐จ๐ฆ
ReplyDeleteThe plate is strictly from just about any flea here.
DeleteBelieve me the cake is much better ๐
What a fun day! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the beautiful drawings and photographs. Recipe would be appreciated.
ReplyDeleteWow! Is there anything Solli can’t do? She is an amazingly talented photographer, and she bakes?? I would have hurried across town in the heat for that cheesecake too! ๐
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it home through the storm. The storm was so severe it made the news: 2 dead, 17 injured, and the roof of the National Assembly leaked while it was in session. Wild!
Solli does many cooking process videos, but she has been cooking since she was a child with love ❤️
DeleteThe desserts look fabulous, especially the cheesecake! Love your painting of it too!! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIf I was out walking I would be pulling you inside. I can’t walk past those beauties Lynne
ReplyDeleteWith practice you could Lynne.
DeleteThey are works of art.
I recently went to the Legion of Honor in San Francisco for the exhibit "Wayne Thiebaud and the Art of Reinterpretation." Some of his work reminded me of yours. This cheesecake is a good example of why I thought of you when looking at much of his work.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I LOVE Wayne Thiebaud’s paintings of course.

The Grand Epicerie wins hands down, looks like the Ritz doesn’t even come close. So glad you found shelter from that storm - looks like it was a really bad one.
ReplyDeleteI agrรฉe Suki ๐
DeleteThe 16e got the brunt of it.
And I agree with one of the comments ~ your painting reminds me of Thiebaud’s ~ but yours have heart and warmth ๐ฅฐ S.
ReplyDeleteSolli’s cheesecake looks delicious!! And of course your painting is fabulous. Carolyn
ReplyDeleteAnother delicious dessert story, thank you! The Galettes au Sarrasin that Solli uses to make her crust are made in a charming small Norman village called Lonlay l'Abbaye. Hard to find outside of Normandy. They are just the perfect cookie, not too sweet, and they are great with cheeses as well as cheesecake. The Tour de France will rush through the village on July 10, so tune in to see it!
ReplyDeleteHa! I went looking for those galettes with no success. Who knew? ๐คท๐ป♀️
DeleteQuelle adventure all in your artists eye! Anabel
