A few weeks ago, when J. said, “would you like to go to the AAWE Christmas Bazaar at The American Church” I said sure.
I would meet the hat ๐ of my dreams. Handmade by a mystery knitter ๐งถ You think ๐ค ‘Hmm, I’ll just try it on…’
Suddenly everyone is saying, “You Have To Get It! “
I have to admit this was my first visit to The American Church, 64, quai d’Orsay and to an AAWE Paris event, but it won’t be my last ๐
The Association of American Women in Europe (AAWE) is a bicultural community of American women primarily in France and in Europe and around the world.
AAWE fosters an environment that enables our members to create bonds, develop supportive networks and lifelong friendships. Along with offer delish, home-baked goodies for special events.
Beautiful cashmeres from JAC/Jane Again Cashmeres made in Italy. *Note the divine grey hand warmers Jane is wearing. Yum Yum
J. browsed the vintage rack and found a Balenciaga! But too big. Dommage ๐คท♀️
Of course, the divine Ajiri Aki…
Of Madame de la Maison, was there,
Ready, Freddy happily demonstrated how easy they were to roll down when needed.
I won’t be a slouch and miss out on anymore AAWE events in future. I was thrilled with my new hat ๐ J. and I went out in the cold for a stroll and an egg salad sandwich ๐ฅช
You never know what can happen in Paris if you’re open to something new.
Love your new hat!
ReplyDeleteI am so inspired by you! I learn so much. Never heard of AAWE. What a fascinating group.
ReplyDeleteThanks but I’m late to the party too.
DeleteCarol. I am in a baking mood here in SoCal! Pumpkin bread, pumpkin cake, banana cookies, tortes, and soon empanadas. Thank you and I had no idea about this homey event.
ReplyDeleteGood for you!
DeleteParis is not all Champagne ๐พ and caviar
What a fun event and love your hat! -Suzanne P.
ReplyDeleteYay for you, Carol! You are so game to try something new. Glad you had a good time and scored that terrific hat…and zucchini bread! Just like the church bazaars at home. A little touch of home over the holidays is a good thing. ❤️
ReplyDeleteA very good thing indeed
DeleteSo easy to forget the simple pleasures ❤️
Worked the bazar in Nov. 1966 when I was JYA in Paris. Soooo American!
ReplyDeleteThe hat looks adorable. Bet it’s warm too. The jewelry would be my downfall. A fire truck could go through the place and I wouldn’t hear it. There is some great vintage. Lynne
ReplyDeleteLove your hat…as cute as you!!!!!
ReplyDelete๐ฅฐ❤️
DeleteGreat hat and I also love your scarf. What a great apron further in your message, the one with the body of an elf. I have one with a giant frog sitting on some leaves. A friend made it for me, because the Frog Prince is my favourite childhood story. These things tell a lot about each of us. I love your PB messages, a vicarious trip to Paris until the next time I can get there.
ReplyDeleteI think I will be a mixup of dots, stripes and checks.

Such fun, just like back home. Some marvelous finds there and the hat is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks Suki ❤️
DeleteSurprises are the best ๐
That looks like a terrific bazaar. And yes, American Church is lovely. So is your cute new hat!
ReplyDeleteYou look great! Perky, healthy and beautiful! AWA
ReplyDeleteLove the hat!!! Maybe I should knit you some matching socks? You always look so stinkin’ cute!!! ❤️๐จ๐ฆ
ReplyDeleteI need a matching scarf ๐งฃ ๐
DeleteOr would this be de trop ๐
I read with interest your post on the Christmas Bazaar at The American Church. 20+ years ago when I lived in France, the Women of the American Church put on a fabulous orientation program each fall. It was a 2-day event with speakers and break out sessions on topics that ranged from essential to fun … anyway, I dug out one of my guides which in those days was in print — a fabulous time in my life. In the meantime, between trips to Paris, you’ve helped keep me up to date on the current goings on. Merci!! Katherine
