Salon International du Patrimoine Cultural

Is your chandelier in sad disrepair?

Does your salle de bain need freshening up? Mine does. If you visited  Salon  International du Patrimoine Cultural this past weekend

At Carousel du Louvre, you made the right choice. Féau Boiseries will be happy t
o attend to all your needs, in the style to which you are unaccustomed.
I would love ❤️ to go Regency in my chambre de bonne
What a splendid array of 330 specialist craftsmen, artisans and  ateliers on hand
To service the chateaux and monuments of Europe.
There were many live demonstrations. Who doesn’t need a wall mural with flying putti & bottles
 of wine 🍷?
Tricotel since 1884, will supply you with stunning trellises for your jardin 🌳
The fair was created 28 years ago.
Salon International du Patrimoine Cultural is the oldest and most important heritage fair on the European scene.
Since its creation, a must-go event for artisans in the sector: professionals in the restoration and safeguarding of built or unbuilt, material or intangible heritage.
Artisans were friendly and happy to chat about their metier.
When I spotted an open box of watercolors I made a beeline.
Gaël Gaborel of Orbisterrae, has a booming business
Creating custom hand-painted globes. What a brilliant idea! Naturally I showed him one of my Paris maps
Just across the aisle, beautiful piles of pigment
From La Moulin à Couleurs I located in Les Ardennes. I was melting..
I got to chat with book publisher of fine arts books, Éditions Monelle Hayot.  I was drooling over her beautiful book 📕 of Chantilly’s Grand Singerie 🙊 a personal passion of mine. So many works of art to drool over.
You might think attendees were on the upper crust side. Not necessarily
.

What were they wearing? Wearing pretty much any old thing like toute en noir or…

This message T-shirt. A closer look revealed lyrics for Aretha Franklin’s version of Think

I’m not sure how I’ve missed this fabulous 4-day artisan’s patrimoine fair before, but it won’t happen again 👏 Mark it ✏️ in your calendar for next year PBers 👍 Please share with a friend.
                               bon lundi et bonne semaine

November was such a dark month for us students years back. Visites conferences in the dark and then home @ 9 PM sans un vrai diner. Those dresses and fabrics are calling to me! bisous Ta Grande

Wow! Isn’t this why we admire France so? Their fixation on beauty, their nurturing of artisans. Lucky you getting to view it all. And, thank you for bringing it to us.

It’s amazing how they have kept these artisan skills alive. Hard to tell they are restorations.

  14. Amazing! It makes sense to have an event with all these specialist artisans all together, but it’s still impressive to see all the different things not in an old building or museum display!
