Meet my watercolor friend and artist, JULIETTE PLISSON .
We met in Clermont Ferrand at one of those Carnet de Voyage exhibitions.
Juliette is queen of leporello sketchbooks among so many other things.
She makes her own leporellos with great speed! You can buy a Leporello blank or filled from Juliette.
Juliette has a M.O.F. in scarf-tying
If there is a carnet de Voyage event or artistes Salon going on, be it Montreil or Venice, Juliette will be there.
Juliette’s favorite pens - a Lamy Global and her special mystery pen.
Watch Juliette in action here.
Or Watch here.
Publisher Eyrolles loved Juliette’s work and asked her to create a how-to book π Voila Lignes et couleurs, dessiner le paysage: Excursions de la mer Γ la ville.
It’s brilliant π

ReplyDeleteJuliette Plisson
Awww..san blague. You are The TOP ❤️ Juliette !!
DeleteCarol, I can never thank you enough for putting me in touch with Juliette when I was in Paris before Covid. Sitting with her in those cafes, her students drawing each other and our croissants and painting the surrounding buildings...heaven. Juliette, you are a lovely person and an exceptional artist! Hope to see you when next I visit Paris.
DeleteThank you for introducing me to another architect, Juliette Plisson that is passionate about sketching. Gerron
ReplyDeleteAll you architects can draw ✏️ the pants off everyone else
DeleteThe last photo is composed so simply. I am transported to a special place.
ReplyDeleteJuliette’s courtyard IS special !!
DeleteCarol & Juliette…two such talented artists. They say birds of a feather flock together. I hope you will be able to attend her next couple of events. Have you ever tried to create an accordion book?πΌ❤️
ReplyDeleteNot yet but maybe now I’ll try it out. Inspired π
DeleteSuch a lovely portrait, Carol, of a lovely and talented artist. You both make me envious of your artistic talent. I look forward to the release of Juliette’s book in English. ❤️
ReplyDeleteI bet you could draw. Everyone can…Left Side of the Brain book π
DeleteThank you for a wonderful introduction to an artist whose work I think I will just love. Ithink I've clicked on every link you included and plan to devour them all. I can see why you've become good friends and kindred spirits. The Carnet sounds wonderful and oh, what joy it would be to attend! I want details (especially on the English edition of Juliet's book!)
ReplyDeleteI can’t wait for the English edition !!
DeleteThis post is a delight to the eyes.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing other people’s sketchbooks and studio spaces. When you show your space I look it over carefully for ideas that I’d like to use. I’m constantly changing up my creative corner in my condo! One day I want to go to a sketchbook show. I’m in Vancouver Canada and I’ve never heard of them having one. One day in Paris I might see you at one!
ReplyDeleteHow interesting Glynis!
DeleteLook for UrbanSketchers Vancouver.
They are Everywhere and have lots of get togethers. They do sketch walks every weekend. Anyone can join and its free. I found plenty of them on Google at Facebook & Meetup etc. Go for it ✏️
Oh WOW, Carol!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your friend with us. What a “class” you belong to, the GRAND WATER COLOR ARTISTS!! WONDERFUL! WHAT GRACE YOU SHARE WITH US. CARLA
I love both of your works, similar yet different. Watercolor has always been a favorite medium of mine and if I had any artistic talent, it would have been my medium. Juliette appears to be a delightful person - always smiling and looking like she is enjoying herself.
ReplyDeletelove love this post--thank you carole and do let us know about the book in english and the carnets you do attend, wherever they may be; love the info.
ReplyDeleteReally wonderful. I envy you both for your artistic talent. Whenever I’ve tried to draw, it looked like I stuck the pen between my toes. No skill whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteAnyone can learn to draw ✏️. There are simple techniques now. Don’t put yourself down π
DeleteIn my next life I will be an architect, with I side for creative art. This is such a lovely post. Thanks!
