I said, “What?...the RER at night is not a good idea...”
B. said, “no problem! I’ll be in bed by 6 pm, worn out from walking Paris.”
“What?”
This is so WRONG. Paris at night is the best, free, spectacular show anywhere. You simply can not miss it. I know I’m missing it like crazy these days of the damn curfew :((
I have 550+ photos of Paris taken at night while walking around on my own. Safe as houses. Certain night things like taking the bateaux mouches are a must-do.
Some touristy things can be wondrous.
Paris at dusk in its full glory.
Les Invalides seen from the bus. With over 50,000 street lamps and around 300 illuminated sites.
Including hotels, churches, statues, fountains, national buildings and monuments, no wonder Paris is calle ‘la Ville des Lumieres’.
If you’re feeling down because of the Paris curfew or for any other reason you may need some serious laughter therapy or calming Tai Chi. Please watch these silly videos. I do daily At least until the curfew ends. Cheers😃💋❤️
What a perfect post! I just watched a movie last night entitled MIDNIGHT IN PARIS. It’s a Woody Allen film so it is quirky. It transported me to Paris even if only for a few hours. See it if you can. I watched on Amazon Prime. 🌙🗼
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Paris at night - we always try to walk back to our apt after dinner - it walks off some of our meal & lets us see the glory of the City of Lights - who could ask for more?

ReplyDeleteParis is the one city that you definitely want to stay in the center of. Good advice to B from CA, Carol. Nothing beats popping out of your hotel’s lobby and being able to walk to everything.
ReplyDeleteAs an American, I too found it hard to believe that a major city could be safe late at night. But it is true. I feel entirely safe walking around any of the tourist areas of Paris by myself at night. Just one more reason to love Paris!

ReplyDeleteHaving survived the loss of power here in Texas, I cannot bring myself to wonder what Paris might look like without electricity. Instead, I ask "Where was Moses when the lights went out?" Of course I answer myself: "In the dark."

So beautiful! Thanks for reminder. I’m especially fond of your tours of patisseries and cafes. Dreaming of a small table, people watching, with a croissant and a latte, in Paris or Firenze. Hope you stay well and comfortable.
